Rohtak- The Haryana district police recently arrested another employee of Pandit BD Sharma University of Health Sciences, Rohtak, in connection with the MBBS exam scam.

The detained person has been identified as Anil Kumar, an assistant in the university. He is accused of providing blank answer sheets to a racketeer involved in the scam. With this action, the total number of arrests in the case has now gone up to six.

Anil was suspended by the university administration in February after his name cropped up in the case during a fact-finding investigation, sources said, reports Tribune Media. On Thursday, he surrendered before a local court, from where the police took him into custody.

DSP Dalip Singh, who is leading the investigation, said that Anil was posted as Deputy Superintendent at the examination center located in the administrative block of the university during the MBBS examination held in January and February 2024. He had provided blank answer sheets to one of the main accused during the examination, reports Tribune.

Sources also said that these answer sheets were filled at the home of a university employee by people other than genuine students. The fake answer sheets were later replaced with original answer sheets with the help of a Class IV employee posted in the secrecy branch of the university.

Meanwhile, a three-member fact-finding committee headed by Dr MK Garg, director of Kalpana Chawla Government Medical College, Karnal, revealed that 46 blank answer sheets were found missing from the university records. Some of these sheets were used in subsequent exams held in April and May 2024.

Earleir, Medical Dialogues reported that a name of a Bachelor of Physiotherapy student has surfaced in connection with this MBBS exam scam. The MBBS scam allegedly involved getting pass marks for MBBS students through fraudulent means in exchange for money.
