Bihar: Amid COVID-19 outbreak when all the doctors and healthcare providers are working day and night to keep the situation under control, an unfortunate event of losing doctor has recently been reported. A 32-year-old professor of Patliputra Medical College and Hospital (PMCH) was found dead recently under mysterious circumstances. The reason for his death is still unknown.

According to a recent report by the Telegraph, the doctor was found lying in his flat in Kusum Vihar Colony of Dhanbad on Thursday. The deceased doctor has been serving as the biochemistry professor for the institution for some time.

The incident came to light when some of his neighbours spotted his flat-locked from inside for a long period of time and found it suspicious.

Hence, they informed the police as soon as possible. After that, the police arrived at his flat and tried to call him some outside; however, getting no response, they broke open the door and found him lying on his bed, reports TT.

The proper cause of his death is yet to be decided. His body was sent for postmortem to PMCH and his relatives were also informed by the authorities.

The police also informed that they have secured a number of liquor bottles from his room but it is not clear whether he was in a drunken state or not. The faculty members of Patliputra Medical College and Hospital have expressed their grief over the matter and have extended their condolences. 

Established in 1971 as Patliputra Medical College at Ashok Raj Path Patna city, the college was under private management Later on due to paucity of adjacent hospital Govt. of Bihar transferred the college to Dhanbad and attached the Sadar Hospital, court more campus Dhanbad, SSLNT hospital Purana Bazaar Dhanbad and Central Hospital Jagjeevan Nagar Dhanbad (Govt. of India, under dept. of labor welfare) for teaching purpose.
