Bengaluru: Karnataka Minister for Medical Education Dr K Sudhakar on Thursday ruled out the possibility of reintroducing lockdown in the state capital or elsewhere in the State to curtail the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Talking to newsmen here on Thursday, Dr Sudhakar clarified that the issue of lockdown did not come up during Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa's video conference nor Prime Minister Narendra Modi or anybody raised the issue during a discussion.
The Chief Minister, during talks with Modi, has only expressed his concern over the supply of oxygen and asked the Centre to set up new oxygen generation units.
The containment zone in the affected has been limited and it was only Micro Containment zone, restricted to only affected place or house and it will not affect others and most of the affected were referred to house containment that helps the family members also. However, the health of people staying in neighbors of the containment house will be checked.
According to official sources, the total number of Covid-19 infected has crossed 5.40 lakhs and the death toll has touched 8266 in the State.
