Mumbai: A city-based ophthalmologist was recently duped of Rs 26,600 by two conman, who allegedly posed as an official of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) and framed him for non-payment of signboard charges.

The accused has been identified as a 28-year-old choreographer, Vivek Sadare, a resident of DN Nagar, Andheri (West), who is now placed under arrest by the Oshiwara police.

As per a recent media report in Hindustan Times, the eye specialist, Dr Sanjay Chaudhary was bluffed by the conman, who told him that charges for his signboard outside his dispensary were pending for the past couple of years. Thus, he would have to pay the amount along with a certain fine.
