Puducherry: Salary of Medical Officers increased from Rs 40,000 to Rs 50,000 per month

Puducherry: Lt Governor Dr Tamilisai Soundararajan approved the proposal to enhance the consolidated remuneration for contract Medical officers in the Union Territory.

She approved the proposal for increase in the rate of consolidated remuneration from Rs 40,000 per month to Rs 50,000 per month to the Medical Officers (ISM&H) engaged on contract basis on par with Medical Officers (Allopathy) working in health department.

According to a Raj Nivas release on Sunday, the decision of the Council of Ministers to empower the Tahsildar-cum-Executive Magistrate of Taluk Offices in Puducherry/Karaikal regions and Deputy Tahsildar-cum-Executive Magistrate of Sub-Taluk Office in Mahe/Yanam regions to issue of Legal heir Certificates has been agreed to by the Lt.Governor.

This will reduce inconvenience of the public approaching Courts for obtaining Legal Heir Certificate and also piling up of cases in the Subordinate Courts.

Dr Soundararajan also accorded approval for the release of second instalment of Grants-in-aid (Phase-II) of Rs.1.21 crore towards ban relief assistance to 2,216 fishers @ Rs.5,500/- per fisher families under the Scheme "Welfare and Relief for Fishermen during Lean seasons and Natural calamities" in the Union Territory.
