Heroic! Kakatiya Medical College 2nd-year MBBS students help pregnant cow deliver with Vet on video call

Hyderabad: In a moving incident, second-year MBBS students of Kakatiya Medical College (KMC) recently saved the life of a pregnant cow by helping deliver her calf with the guidance of a veterinary specialist on video call.

Their extraordinary compassion and swift response saved the pregnant cow who collapsed on the campus crying in pain. Even though they lacked formal veterinary training, they successfully delivered the calf with the help of the specialist. This showcased their commitment to saving lives in every living form.

These heroic students include Uday Kiran, Swaroop, Mohandeep, Shanmukh, Navneeth, and Hemant Madhukar. 

The incident unfolded when the pregnant cow came to graze on the premises of KMC and suddenly collapsed on the ground. The cow then began crying out in pain. Noticing the cow's condition, the students immediately took action and contacted a veterinary specialist via video call to seek guidance.

Under the expert's instructions on video call, the students performed a challenging and successful delivery, saving the cow’s life. Later, the veterinary specialist confirmed that the cow’s health was stable. The cow received further care and attention.

When hearing about the students’ timely efforts, the farmer expressed his heartfelt gratitude and praised their dedication. This rare incident showcased the versatility and compassion of KMC medicos.

The students proved their ability to extend their medical knowledge beyond human healthcare and contribute to the well-being of animals in need. It emerged that the KMC security staff also provided crucial support during the rescue effort.
