Karimnagar: In a tragic incident, a first-year Post Graduate medical (PG medical) student attached to the Chalmeda Ananda Rao Institute of Medical Sciences died in a road accident on Monday, while two other PG medicos sustained grave injuries in the mishap.

As per a recent media report in the Telangana Today, the deceased student has been identified as Ravichandra, who got killed on the spot after a bus hit the car the three medical students were travelling in. The accident took place on the Rajiv Rahadari near Bommakal on the outskirts of Karimnagar town early on 24 October, 2022.

Rajiv Rahadari passes through about 96 kilometers in Siddipet district from Vantimamidi in Mulugu mandal to Devakkapally in Bejjanki mandal. Many vehicles on this road travel at 100 kmph and some even touch 130 kmph though the speed limit is 80 kmph. To exacerbate, the stretch has more than 60 curves from Shameerpet to Siddipet alone which is also one of the main reasons for accidents.

With the latest car accident in Karimnagar, the medical community is shook to have lost a PG medico with two others injured, reports Telangana Today.

Medical Dialogues team had earlier reported a similar incident, wherein, 7 MBBS students of the Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, OSD of the Datta Meghe Institute of Medical Sciences were killed in a car accident after their vehicle suffered a 40-feet plunge from the Nagpur-Tuljapur highway onto a riverbed.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi had condoled the death of the 7 students and announced Rs 2 lakh each for the families of those that perished in the accident from the Prime Minister's National Relief Fund (PMNRF).

Chalmeda AnandRao Institute of Medical Sciences run by Arihant Educational Society is a full -fledged Medical college with 1000 bedded teaching Hospital established in 2003.
