New Emergency Ward with 58 beds opens at RG Kar Medical College
Kolkata: The RG Kar Medical College and Hospital in Kolkata has started its new emergency observation ward with 58 beds which are equipped with all life-saving equipment and medicine.
As per a media report in the Times of India, the hospital earlier used to have only a 12 bedded emergency unit, which is one of the busiest medical colleges in India.

Presently, the newly opened emergency observation ward with facilities including a CPR room, hybrid CCU and HDU beds, ECG facilities, ventilators, Bipap machines, and defibrillator machines. The newly equipped ward is expected to provide better care to patients who require urgent medical attention.
The RGKMCH principal Sandip Ghosh told TOI, "The aim is to provide the best possible care to emergency patients while putting them under observation. Along with this we also opened four emergency medicine counters in that unit itself so that patient's families do not have to run about."
