Goa CM calls for collaboration, growth in Ayurveda sector at GAMA event

CM Attends GAMA Ceremony
Panaji: Goa Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant recently attended the installation ceremony of the newly elected committee of the Goa Ayurvedic Medical Association (GAMA) in Panaji, where he emphasised the importance of collaboration, innovation, and sustained growth in the Ayurveda sector.
In a post on the social media platform 'X', the Chief Minister extended his congratulations to Dr. Nitin Manjrekar and other office bearers. He also acknowledged the association’s contribution to the steady development of Ayurveda in Goa over the past three decades, noting that the field has evolved significantly since its early years.
Sawant highlighted the need for stronger coordination among medical associations to enhance healthcare delivery and professional standards. He also encouraged Ayurveda practitioners to explore entrepreneurship opportunities and expand their services beyond traditional practice.
In this regard, he pointed to institutional support available through the Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India (EDII) and government-backed schemes such as the Chief Minister’s Rozgar Yojana (CMRY), which aim to support business development and self-employment.

The Chief Minister also expressed confidence that the newly elected GAMA team would continue to play a key role in advancing Ayurveda in the state. He said the association’s efforts would contribute to improving healthcare outcomes and expanding awareness about traditional medicine.
The ceremony concluded with the formal induction of the new committee, marking the beginning of its tenure focused on strengthening Ayurveda practice and outreach in Goa.
