Follow the Official X Account to get Faster Updates, Says NMC

New Delhi: The National Medical Commission (NMC) has advised all the stakeholders to follow the official X (formerly Twitter) account of the Commission to get authentic information/updates faster.
Notifying about the official NMC X account i.e. @NMC_BHARAT, the Commission has further informed that circulars, notices and other official information would be shared on the X handle of NMC.
Issuing a notice in this regard, NMC Secretary Dr B Srinivas mentioned, "All the medical colleges/institutes & Medical Fraternities are intimated that NMC has opened account on X(Twitter). The address of the NMC account is @NMC_BHARAT. NMC will upload circulars, notices & other information on the aforesaid account on the social media platform in addition to the existing NMC website."
Informing the stakeholders regarding the opening of the official X account, the Commission further added in the notice dated 16.12.2024, "In order to have the faster & genuine information, updates, all the stakeholders are advised to follow NMC X account as early as possible."
"All the stakeholders may note that for the authentic information/updates, they may refer to X (Twitter) & NMC Website (www.nmc.org.in) only," it further added.
Medical Dialogues had earlier reported that NMC recently informed that the official applicability of notices, circulars, guidelines, instructions etc being found in the public domain in the name of the Commission would be officially applicable only when they are formally published on the Commission's website and the official Twitter (now X) handle of Commission.
NMC warned the stakeholders regarding the premature circulation of official notification in the background of the recent fiasco over the NEET PG 2025 dates where a premature circular was released online causing a frenzy regarding the authenticity of the notice and the NMC was bombarded wth questions on whether the notice was fake or not.
Asking all the concerned to cooperate fully in ensuring that such official channels are used for communication while upholding the NMC standards, the Commission further specified that it would not vouch for the authenticity of any letter/communication circulating in social media that is not on the Commission's website.
