Shocking: Iraqi-origin Doctor arrested for allegedly throwing puppies from Building
The doctor was booked under Section 429 (mischief by killing or maiming of cattle, of any value or any animal of the value of fifty rupees) of the Indian Penal Code(IPC) and subsections 11(I) (l) of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals(PCA) Act of 1960 (prohibit inflicting unnecessary pain on any animal and killing any animal).
Gurugram: An Iraqi-origin doctor associated with a leading private hospital has been arrested by local police following the mysterious death of two pet dogs after falling down from his apartment based on the eighth floor.
According to media reports, the incident came into light after two residents of the society, who were on a walk in the morning, saw a puppy falling off from the eighth floor of multi-storey Emaar Emerald housing society complex, sector 65. It died on the spot. Meanwhile, they witnessed another dog falling from the same apartment and it too died on the spot.
Following the incident, security guards and caretakers of the society were immediately informed.
The apartment, owned by an Iraqi national, a 25-year-old doctor connected to the prominent private hospital moved to the society a few months back. He worked as an agent for helping Iraqi nationals receive treatment in the city.
On receiving an alert regarding the incident, the security personnel reached his apartment where the doctor allegedly misbehaved with them.
The caretakers of the building then informed about the incident to the police and an NGO, Ummid for Animal Foundation, reports the IANS.

The police received a written complaint from the animal foundation against the doctor that he allegedly threw two pet dogs from his flat's balcony. The complaint was given by an NGO.

The police had leads against the accused doctor and an investigation was conducted regarding the matter.
The police scanned the CCTV footage of the condominium to what exactly happened. Based on the CCTV footage, the doctor was arrested.
After the arrest, he was produced in front of the district and sessions judge and was granted bail.
Shamsher Singh, assistant commissioner of police (crime) told the HT, “He has confessed to the crime and has revealed that he got angry at them[the puppies] as they were not behaving properly and not listening to his commands.”
