J&K SCPCR orders inquiry into death of 2 babies alleged due to medical negligence at Gvt Hospital
Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir State Commission for Protection of Women and Child Rights (SCPCR) on Friday decided to constitute an inquiry into the death of two babies due to medical negligence in a government hospital in the summer capital, Srinagar.
Taking suo-motto cognisance of a letter addressed to Governor Satya Pal Malik, the SCPCR chairperson Vasundhara P Masoodi said that Commission has come across reports in a section of press and social media about the mishandling of case in Lal Ded hospital in which twin newborn babies lost their lives.
"Mr. Sofi, father of the babies alleged that the neonates lost their live due to mishandling of cases in the hospital. He has also written a letter to Governor, alleging that the unfortunate incident took place due to mishandling of medicos in the hospital," she said in the order.
