Last Chance for PG Courses 2020-21: MCI extends application deadline to 31st May 2019
New Deli: Through a recent notice the Medical Council of India (MCI) has informed about the extension of deadline for medical colleges intending to start/increase seats for PG medical courses for the academic year 2020-21.
The extension comes upon the directions of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. The notice informs the last date of application of PG Medical courses has been extended to 30st May 2019, specifying that the medical colleges may submit the application accordingly or revise application already submitted, if so desired so that same reaches the Council Office not later than 30th May, 2019.
Medical Dialogues has recently reported that MCI is now moving to completely digital solutions which are soon going to replace to declaration forms that accompany every MCI inspection
In a recent letter to all the Deans of Medical Colleges, MCI Secretary, Dr RK Vats informed about the plan of the council to create a digital registry of medical college faculty which will replace the requirement for submission of the faculty declaration form.
This comes as strong move to ensure that a medical faculty is associated with only one single medical college, in a particular academic year.

It is being brought to the notice of all concerned that the Central Government, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, New Delhi vide their letter dated 09/05/2019 has decided to extend the last date for receipt of applications for starting/ increase of seats in PG Broad Specialty u/s 10A of the IMC Act, 1956 for the academic year 2020-21 upto 30th May, 2019. Accordingly, Medical College fulfilling all the criteria as prescribed under MCI Regulations may submit the application accordingly or revise application already submitted, if so desired so that same reaches the Council Office not later than 30th May, 2019.
