SC orders all AIIMS to follow JIPMER like roster for Institutional Preference Candidates for INI CET
Putting an end to the concerns of institutional preference candidates in INI-CET examination, the Supreme Court on Friday directed all the AIIMS institutes to adopt roster based reservation followed by Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research, Pondicherry (JIPMER).
Such a direction came from the top court bench comprising of after it took note of the submission of Mr. Parashar, the counsel for AIIMS. Mr. Parashar informed the bench that AIIMS New Delhi and all the other AIIMS would henceforth follow the philosophy of the JIPMER system by creating their own roasters.

Serum Institute of India to seek DCGI market nod for qHPV vaccine against cervical cancer
The Serum Institute of India (SII) has sought the government's permission to manufacture and stockpile indigenously developed Quadrivalent Human Papillomavirus (qHPV) vaccine against cervical cancer after the completion of the phase 2/3 clinical trials to ensure its early availability in the country, official sources said on Sunday. The firm will soon seek market authorisation as well as a manufacturing licence from the Drugs Controller General of India (DCGI) for the vaccine, they said.
The application mentions that every year, lakhs of women are diagnosed with cervical cancer and the death ratio is also very high. In India, cervical cancer ranks as the second most frequent cancer among women in the 15-44 age group.

Covid cases go down by 20% after rising for 4 weeks straight
Coronavirus cases in the country go down by around 20 percent in the week ending Sunday as fresh infections dipped substantially in Delhi-NCR.
India is likely to record close to 18,500 new cases during the week (May 9-15), down from just over 23,000 in the previous seven days - arresting a rising trend that had begun in the April 11-17 week.

ICMR calls for research proposals For Fellowships Under HRD Scheme
The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) has invited research proposals for fellowships under human resource development (HRD) scheme for health research of department of health research in the emerging fields of medical/clinical/health sciences for the year 2022-23.
The one who wishes to apply needs to submit the application through the website portal of DHR/ICMR: https://dhrschemes.icmr.org.in. Details of the eligibility, format of application, terms & conditions, and programme guidelines are available on the DHR website. Last date of receipt of full length research proposals: 22nd June till 5:30 PM.

DCI issues clarification on online attendance monitoring system
Dental Counselling of India (DCI) has issued notifications regarding clarification on Online Faculty and Student Attendance Monitoring System (OFSAMS).
As per the notice, few stakeholders have raised concerns regarding data usage obtained during the enrolment OFSAMS project. In this regard, M/s Techinfy Solution Pvt. Ltd., New Delhi, has furnished an undertaking through a letter dated 29th April 2022. The undertaking states that the data collected and obtained under OFSAMS Project will be used only for attend purposes and not used for any other purpose.

Maharashtra sees 296 vacant PG medical seats this year
296 PG Medical seats remain vacant in the state of Maharashtra after conducting all the rounds of the counselling process. This year 1928 seats were available in government and private medical colleges across the state, out of which 1632 seats were filled up.
According to Hindustan Times, now candidates are demanding changes in the admission policy so that seat in important courses doesn't go vacant.
