Delhi Horror: 2 doctors arrested as police bust illegal surgical racket that lead to numerous deaths
Busting an illegal surgical racket in the posh South Delhi’s Greater Kailash area, two doctors and two individuals pretending to be doctors have been arrested at the Agarwal Medical Centre on Tuesday. The Delhi police took action against them for allegedly conducting surgeries without the required qualifications and permissions. It is reported that two patients have died at the clinic due to these unauthorized procedures this year.

NEET PG, NEET MDS Counselling 2023: MCC releases schedule for special stray vacancy round to fill leftover seats
Through a recent notice, the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has announced the schedule for the Special Stray Vacancy Round of NEET PG and NEET MDS Counselling for 50% AIQ and 100% Deemed/Central Universities/AFMS/PG DNB Seats for MD, MS, PG Diploma, DNB and MDS courses.
To prevent the wastage of precious medical seats, MoHFW has decided to conduct a Special Stray Vacancy Round for the vacant MD/ MS/ Diploma/ MDS Seats of AIQ and State Quota. This Special Stray Vacancy Round will be the last round for Postgraduate courses for this academic year i.e, 2023.

After severe backlash from states, NMC defers MBBS seat to population plan
The dictum on the MBBS seat cap per population has now been put on hold till the year 2025 by the apex medical regulator of India, National Medical Commission (NMC).
The decision to defer the plan limiting MBBS seats in each state to 100 per 10 lakh population, comes in the backdrop of a Health Ministry’s directive due to intense pushback from the states which already have the required or more MBBS seats /medical colleges than the prescribed ratio.

Union Health Ministry introduces bill to replace Pharmacy Council of India, invites comments
