Bengaluru: Doctor shares nude pictures of fiancee for fun, killed
A 27-year-old doctor was beaten to death by his fiance and three of her friends for allegedly sharing her nude pictures on social media. Police have arrested three accused in the case, and another suspect is at large.
The doctor has been identified as Dr. Vikash Rajan, a resident of BTM Layout and from Chennai. Vikash completed his MBBS in Ukraine and practised in Chennai for two years before moving to Bengaluru four months ago to take coaching for the Foreign Medical Graduates Examination (FMGE).
The practice of multiple systems of medicine and provision allowing individuals who are already enrolled in the State Register of Practitioners to continue their practice even if they do not possess the required medical qualifications, were recently addressed before the Supreme Court.
According to the ANI report, the top court has sought the Centre's response to a plea filed by the Association of Medical Consultants (AMC), Mumbai challenging Section 34 (Rights of Persons to practice) of the National Commission for Indian System of Medicine Act, 2020 and National Commission for Homoeopathy Act, 2020.
Introducing changes in the rules for establishing medical colleges, the National Medical Commission (NMC) has released the Draft Establishment of Medical College Regulations, (Amendment), 2022.
The universities and deemed-to-be-universities will be benefitted by these amended rules which aim to change the previous norms as mentioned in the Establishment of Medical College Regulations, 1999.
In its latest drug safety alert, the apex drug regulatory body, Central Drugs Standard Control Organization (CDSCO) flagged 45 medicine batches for failing to qualify a random drug sample test for the month of August, 2022.
This came in line with the list of drugs, medical devices and cosmetics declared as Not of StandardbQuality/Spurious/Adulterated/Misbranded for the Month of August – 2022.
A systematic review and meta-analysis of 19 cohort studies involving more than 1 million adults from eight countries has claimed that people who drink four or more cups of tea every day – specifically green, Oolong, or black tea – are 17% less likely to develop type 2 diabetes than those who do not drink tea. However drinking fewer cups of tea per day was not found to confer any benefit..
The findings are being presented at this year's European Association for the Study of Diabetes (EASD) Annual Meeting in Stockholm, Sweden (19-23 Sept).
