Bengaluru Shocker: Woman beats doctor to death for sharing nude pictures on social media, arrested
The Begur police arrested three accused, and the fourth suspect is at large.
Bengaluru: A 27-year-old doctor was beaten to death by his fiance and three of her friends for allegedly sharing her nude pictures on social media. Police have arrested three accused in the case, and another suspect is at large.
The doctor has been identified as Dr. Vikash Rajan, a resident of BTM Layout and from Chennai. Vikash completed his MBBS in Ukraine and practised in Chennai for two years before moving to Bengaluru four months ago to take coaching for the Foreign Medical Graduates Examination (FMGE).
Vikash and her fiance, identified as Prathipa, were in a two-year relationship after they decided to tie the knot. Everything was going smoothly until on September 8, Prathipa was shocked to find on his laptop that Vikash uploaded her nude picture to a fake social media account and shared the nudes with his friend. In a rage, Prathipa confronted Vikash about the matter. However, Vikash took the matter lightly and said that he did that for fun. After a huge fight, Prathipa left Vikash's house.

The incident took a shocking turn when Prathipa informed her friends about the matter and planned to punish him. However, as per their claims, they had no intention of killing him.
Prathipa and her friends Sushil, Goutham, and Surya, all residents of BTM Layout and architects' first brought Vikash to Sushil's house in Mico Layout on September 10 at night. Then Sushil, Goutham, and Surya assaulted Vikash with a mop, water bottle, and their fists. At that time, Vikash was severely injured and fell unconscious. They took him to St John's Hospital at around 4 am on September 11 as their intention was not to kill him. Prathipa told Vikash's brother Vijay at 5. 30 am that she went to her friend's residence with Vikash, and she walked out of the house to attend to a phone call when her friends started fighting with Vikash, and they assaulted him, DH report.
Later, Vikas fell into a coma and died on September 14. The family members of Vikas were shocked to believe that Prathipa was behind the plan. Prathipa pretended to be innocent in front of Vikash's family and the police. She acknowledged taking Vikash to Sushil's house, but she pretended to be unaware of the details surrounding the violent attack. He was unconscious when she returned after leaving the house for a phone call, according to her, after waiting 30 to 40 minutes. However, police inquiries revealed that the attackers had acted on her instructions.
Following a complaint from Vikash's older brother Vijay, the attempted murder case filed against the accused was eventually changed to a murder case. The Begur police arrested the three accused on September 16, however, Surya is at large.
Begur police inspector Anil Kumar H D and his team said that they are currently in police custody until further probe.
