Patient dies of Hemorrhagic shock post LSCS: Consumer Court holds medical negligence by doctor, hospital, directs Rs 20 lakh compensation.
Holding medical negligence on part of the doctor and the hospital, the National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission (NCDRC) has directed them to pay Rs 20 lakh compensation to the family of a patient with a rare blood group who had died over 25 years ago after childbirth.
The bench ruled that it was a lack of adequate care after the LSCS that led the patient into hemorrhagic shock.

The candidates seeking admissions to MD, MS and PG Diploma courses at medical colleges affiliated to Kaloji Narayana Rao University of Health Sciences (KNRUHS) are required to sign a bond of Rs 20 lakh and Rs 10 lakh respectively.
The information to this effect comes from the information bulletin released by the medical university on its official website indicating the bond requirements mandatory to be fulfilled by in-service candidates seeking PG medical admissions in KNRUHS this academic year.

In a significant development, pharma major Novartis has got a go ahead from the Subject Expert Committee (SEC) functional under the Central Drugs Standard Control Organization (CDSCO) to conduct a Phase 3 clinical trial of anticancer drug Dabrafenib in combination with Trametinib.

The post-graduate medical student and 3 staff nurses arrested in connection with the fire in the ICU of the Ahmednagar civil hospital have been granted bail by a court in Ahmednagar on Friday.
Ahmednagar district judge M R Natu granted bail to the doctor along with the nurses on a surety and personal bond of Rs 25,000 each.
