New FMG Regulations 2021 to change dynamics of MBBS abroad
Putting an end to all the speculations surrounding foreign medical education as well as sealing the fate of its course, the National Medical Commission has recently notified the National Medical Commission (Foreign Medical Graduate Licentiate) Regulations, 2021.
The regulations that take effect from the date of official gazette notification that is 18th November 2021, would be applicable to all admissions after the said date. The regulations would not be applicable to foreign medical graduates who have acquired a foreign medical degree or primary qualification prior to the coming into force of these regulations or to those candidates who are pursuing their education in foreign institutions prior to the coming into force of these regulations or to those who are specifically exempted by the Commission or the Central Government. For those who are currently pursuing their foregin medical education would be governed by ertwhile regulations, the NMC has clearly stated.

NEET PG Counselling Delay: Doctors threaten pan India Strike
Upset, disappointed, and shocked over the continuous delay of NEET PG Counselling, doctors have warned to go on pan India indefinite strike if the matter is not resolved at the earliest.
Doctors under the umbrella of the Federation of All India Medical Association (FAIMA), Federation of Resident Doctors Association (FORDA) and Indian Medical Association Junior Doctors' Network (IMA-JDN) have decided to shut down all elective and Out Patient Department (OPD) services urging the Supreme Court and Union Government to take every possible measure to expedite the counselling process for NEET PG 2021.

Dr Minu Bajpai, HOD Pediatric Surgery at AIIMS takes charge as new Director of NBE
Prof Dr Minu Bajpai, Head of Department of Pediatric Surgery, AIIMS Delhi has recently been appointed as the Executive Director of the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS). Dr. Bajpai takes charge from Prof. Pawanindra Lal whose request for Pre-Mature Repatriation to MAMC was recently approved by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. Prof Pawanindra Lal had requested for premature Repatriation due to the increasing clinical workload in the post-Covid times.
Dr Bajpai pursued his MBBS from Ganesh Shanker Vidyarthi Memorial Medical College, Kanpur, 1981. Thereafter, he completed his Master in Surgery (MS) as well as Mch in Pediatric Surgery from All India Institute Medical Sciences, New Delhi. He has been working at AIIMS from the last 38 years and currently heads the department of Pediatrics at the institute.
