2 Doctors face Medical Council Inquiry for allegedly issuing fake life certificates to dead persons-

The Tamil Nadu Medical Council (TNMC) has recently issued notices to two doctors for allegedly issuing fake "life certificates" of people who had died earlier.

One of the two doctors is serving as an Assistant Surgeon with the Royapettah Government Hospital, Chennai, whereas the other doctor runs a private clinic in Hosur.

Manipur gets its first Private Medical College with 150 MBBS seats

In a major milestone for medical education in Manipur and North-East India, the National Medical Commission (NMC) has given its nod for setting up the first private medical college in Imphal. The college has received permission from NMC for admitting 150 MBBS students from the academic session 2021-2022.

The confirmation in this regard has come from the Chairman & Managing Director of Shija Hospitals and Research Institute (SHRI), Dr. Palin Khundongbam, while he was addressing a press conference on Sunday. Director (SAHS) Dr. M Amuba, Board of directors (SAHS) Dr. Jugindra Sorokhaibam, Bonney Devi S and Gayatri Maibam, and Medical Superintendent (SAHS) Kaushik Debnath also attended the press conference.

Lupin, Sun Pharma recall Loratadine-D, Gatifloxacin in US

Leading drug makers Sun Pharma and Lupin are recalling different products in the US, the world's largest market for medicines, for different reasons.

As per the latest enforcement report by the US Food and Drug Administration (USFDA), Sun Pharma is recalling 22,752 blister packs of Loratadine-D extended-release tablets, used for the treatment of allergic rhinitis and the common cold, in the US market.
