Assam: SITA signs MOU with Gauhati Medical College and Hospital to conduct Post-COVID impact survey
Guwahati: A Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) has been signed between the State Innovation & Transformation Aayog (SITA) and the Gauhati Medical College & Hospital (GMCH) agreeing to conduct a survey of the post-Covid impact.
Chief Executive Officer M.S.Manivannan, signed the MoA on behalf of SITA, whereas Prof. (Dr.) Achyut Ch. Baishya, Principal-cum-Chief Superintendent, GMCH, Guwahati signed on behalf of the Gauhati Medical College & Hospital.
The signing took place in the presence of Vice-Chairman Ramen Deka and officials of SITA reports the Economic Times.
Deka is hopeful that the projects would help in understanding COVID-19-related distress and psychiatric disorders developed by some patients infected with the virus.
The four-fold goals of the project include assessing the prevalence of post-COVID-19 syndrome, assessing the functional status, assessing the stress level, and assessing the psychiatric morbidity.
Prof (Dr) Deepanjali Medhi, Professor & Head of Department of Psychiatry, GG Das, Advisor (F&A), DS Hazari, ARO, Dipankar Bora, LO, and other officials of SITA attended the signing ceremony, reports the Sentinel.
Meanwhile, SITA during the peak of the Covid-19 pandemic had prepared around four reports and submitted those to the State Government in May 2020. The reports were titled, 'Report on Industry & Commerce of Assam in the Backdrop of Covid-19 Pandemic'; 'Report on Economy of Assam in the Backdrop of Covid-19 Pandemic'; 'Report on tea Industry of Assam in the Backdrop of Covid-19 Pandemic'; and 'Report on Agriculture & Allied Activities of Assam in the Backdrop of Covid-19 Pandemic'. Further, they were also made in collaboration with various associations and institutions of the State.
