2,091 MD Community Medicine, Social and Preventive Medicine seats: NMC seat matrix 2026-27

Medical Dialogues earlier reported that the NMC released a seat matrix on September 29 showing a total of 63,177 MD, MS, Diploma, DM and MCh medical seats for the academic year 2026-27. However, the NMC clarified that the latest seat matrix does not include seats related to applications received for an increase in the intake of existing PG courses or for the commencement of new PG courses for the academic year 2026-27.
According to the latest seat matrix, there are 235 M.D. Community Medicine/Social & Preventive Medicine seats in Uttar Pradesh, 174 seats in Tamil Nadu, 141 seats in Gujarat, 134 seats in Madhya Pradesh, 116 seats in Andhra Pradesh, 98 seats in Rajasthan, 83 seats in West Bengal, and 82 seats in Telangana.
Further, 67 seats are available in Kerala, 55 seats in Delhi, 52 seats in Haryana, 49 seats in Odisha, 44 seats in Chhattisgarh, 42 seats in Puducherry, 34 seats in Bihar, 28 seats in Punjab, 26 seats in Assam, 21 seats in Uttarakhand, and 20 seats in Jammu & Kashmir.
Himachal Pradesh has 14 M.D. Community Medicine/Social & Preventive Medicine seats, followed by 12 in Manipur, 9 each in Chandigarh and Jharkhand, 8 in Tripura, 7 in Goa, 4 in Dadra and Nagar Haveli, and 2 each in Arunachal Pradesh and Sikkim.
Meanwhile, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Meghalaya and Mizoram have no M.D. Community Medicine/Social & Preventive Medicine seats listed in the latest seat matrix.
