87 FMGs Selected For Internship At GMCs: DME Assam
Assam: The Director of Medical Education (DME Assam) has released the list of selected Foreign Medical Graduates for undergoing compulsory rotating internship training at Government Medical Colleges.
The list consists of the Name of the Candidates, the Year of passing the Screening Test for FMGs, the Seat Allotted At, and the No of the Internship year. 87 Foreign Medical Graduates selected for 1 year /2 years compulsory rotating internship training at Government Medical Colleges of Assam. These candidates have cleared their MBBS/BDS/equivalent degree from a foreign institute.
The candidates are directed to report to the Principals of their respective Medical Colleges on or before 15th May 2023. The detailed list is enclosed in the notice below.
For two years of compulsory rotating internship training, the stipend will be paid to the interns during their second year of internship training as per NMC Circular, vide no-U.15024/01/2022-UGMEB dated 9th May 2023.
The counselling process happened on 18th April 2023. Those who are permanent residents of Assam and have passed their MBBS (Part-II) final examination or equivalent degree from institutes outside India (Foreign Medical Graduates) intending to compulsory rotating internship training from Government Medical Colleges of Assam and who have applied for the same were eligible for counselling.
The Directorate of Medical Education, Assam, Training and Research, Assam was established in 1984 under the control of the Health & Family Welfare Department, Government of Assam. It promotes expertise in medical science in different streams like Allopathic, Ayurvedic, and Homoeopathic medicine and paramedical science, and health care facilities to the people of Assam through different hospitals under the Directorate. It promotes research in medical science in the state of Assam.

9. Diploma in Paramedical Sciences
