Dr YSR University of Health Sciences Invites Applications For BAMS, BHMS, BUMS 2023, know admission details here
Andhra Pradesh: Dr YSR University of Health Sciences has invited applications for admission into UG AYUSH (BAMS, BHMS & BUMS) courses under the Competent Authority Quota.
The candidates can apply up to 05.00 PM on 21.10.2023 on the website mentioned in the notice below. The date of release of the provisional merit position of the applied candidates, the date of release of the final merit position, the dates of exercising web options, and the commencement of classes will be notified on the official website. Closer of admissions is 20.11.2023, as per the MINISTRY OF AYUSH/ NCISM/NCH schedule.
The entire application process is online mode only, including uploading of Images, scanned copies of Certificates/documents payment of fees, etc. All the above dates are tentative, and the University reserves the right to change them without assigning any reason or advance notice. Mere submission of the application does not confer any right to a seat.
Printout of the filled-in online application form and provisional verification form, along with original certificates, should be submitted at the time of admission at the allotted college. Hence, the candidates must take printouts of the filled-in online application & provisional verification form.

The same application will be considered for all the rounds of the counseling, including MOPUP round counseling, and also for stray vacancies, subject to the fulfillment of eligibility criteria. There shall not be any offline admission and admission without counseling or any admissions in contravention; admissions made after the cut-off date by any means shall not be approved/canceled by the NCISM/NCH.
This online application is invited to determine State Merit position for admission into Competent Authority Quota seats only, i.e., “the seats remaining after contributing of 15% to All India Quota in Government AYUSH colleges and Category ‘A’ seats (50% of intake) in Private Unaided Non-Minority AYUSH Colleges under Dr. YSR UHS, Vijayawada”.

Number of seats under competent authority quota –
Total number of seats expected for the academic year 2023-24 in BAMS/BHMS and BUMS Courses at Government and Private Colleges affiliated to University under Competent Authority Quota i.e., the seats remaining after contributing 15% of seats to National Pool (AIQ) (including the Government of India Nominee seats) in Government Ayurveda and Homoeopathy Medical Colleges and Competent Authority Quota seats in Private Ayurveda and Homoeopathy Medical Colleges will be displayed before the counseling. However, the total number of seats in the affiliated colleges for the academic year 2023-24 are given Annexure-I on page No.30. Fee structure “is” as fixed by Govt. of A.P. vide G.O.MS.No.141, HM & FW(C2) Dept. dt.31-08-2023.
In case any new colleges are affiliated, / seats are enhanced by the Ministry of AYUSH for the Academic Year 2023-24, those seats will also be filled up. No further notification will be issued.
Eligibility -
The candidates who secured the cut-off marks and more in the NEET-UG, 2023, conducted by the national testing agency and fulfill the following criteria are eligible for admission into BAMS, BHMS & BUMS courses have to submit their online application by paying the non-refundable application and processing fee through online and upload the scanned certificates/documents required for competent authority quota.
The candidate must have passed intermediate (10+2) or its equivalent examination recognized by the concerned State Government and Education Board with the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English individually.
A minimum of 50% marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology at the aforesaid qualifying examination in the case of the General category.
40% Marks in the case of the Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and Backward Classes.
The minimum age for admission shall be 17 years as of 31st December 2023. Further, there is no upper age limit.
The other rules and regulations that are applicable to the UG AYUSH course will be applicable to BHMS, BAMS & BUMS courses. For further information, check the University website for the prospectus of UG AYUSH courses notified on 16.10.2023.
In respect of persons with disability candidates specified under the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016 (49 of 2016), the minimum qualifying marks in the said qualifying examination are as follows: a) In Physics, Chemistry, and Biology shall be 45% in the case of General Category. b) 40% in the case of the Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Classes. (for PWD candidates only).
For PwD candidates, the PwD certificate should be as per the Guidelines issued by the Central Government and notified by the NCISM/NCH
The candidates should secure the following cut-off scores in National Eligibility - cum- Entrance Test (NEET) UG -2023, conducted by NATIONAL TESTING AGENCY,
New Delhi as per section (10) of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956.

The candidate should be an Indian National and should satisfy the Local or Non-local status in Andhra Pradesh (Residence requirement) as laid down in Andhra Pradesh Education Institutions (Regulations of Admissions) Order, 1974. Selection will be done as per the procedure laid down in the G.O.P.No.646, dated 10.07.1979, as amended in G.O.Ms.No.42, Higher Education (EC2) Department, dated. 18.05.2009.

Eligibility conditions in respect of candidates whose domicile of Andhra Pradesh / Telangana -
The candidate shall satisfy Local / Non-local status as per GO.No.646 Edn. (W1)department dated 10-07-1979 and Presidential order. The procedure indicated in the above G.O. for the selection of candidates as amended in G.O.Ms.No.42, Higher Education (EC2) Dept., dated 18-05- 2009, shall be followed.
The Non-local candidates are eligible for 15% unreserved seats only. The local candidates are also eligible for 15% unreserved seats.
The verification fee and registration fee, once paid, will not be refunded or not adjusted to a future date. Therefore, candidates are advised to check eligibility conditions thoroughly before applying for Competent Authority seats.
Reservations -
Reservation in favor of the local candidates -
Admission to 85% of the seats shall be reserved in favor of the local candidates in relation to the local area as provided in A.P. Educational Institutions (Regulation of Admission) order, 1974 for Non-State-Wide courses as given in Annexure-III of GO (P) No. 646, Edu. (W1) Department, dt.10-7-1979
Reservation for Scheduled Castes (S.C) and Scheduled Tribes (S.T) –
Out of the seats available for admission by the University, 15% of seats shall be reserved for candidates belonging to SC, and 6% of seats shall be reserved for candidates belonging to Scheduled Tribes in each local area.
Reservation for Backward Classes (B.C) –
29% of the available seats for admission in each local area by the University shall be reserved for candidates belonging to Backward Classes as follows: BC-A -7%, BC-B-10%, BC-C-1%, BC-D-7% & BC-E-4% (Subject to further orders of the Government of A.P. / High Court).
Reservation for Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) –
The reservation of 10% in favour of Economically Weaker Section (EWS) candidates who are not covered under the existing scheme of reservation for SC/ST & BCs will be made as per the procedure/ guidelines issued by the Government of AP in the Government Ayurveda & Homeopathy.
Reservation for women candidates –
331/3% of seats are reserved for women candidates, which are horizontal reservation.

Verification of certificates –
The eligibility of a candidate will be verified based on the uploaded copies of scanned Certificates/documents.
The candidates who are claiming reservation under Special Categories, i.e., PwD, NCC, and CAP, have to watch the university website for further notifications, if any, for scrutiny of original certificates of respective special categories.
Merit list –
The Provisional Merit Position of the candidates who applied online in response to the notification issued by Dr. YSRUHS for Competent Authority Quota seats into UG AYUSH shall be determined by NEET UG-2023 scores after verification of uploaded certificates by the University and officials of concerned departments as per eligibility rules/ regulations.
Admission rules –
The Selected candidates have to download the allotment order from the website after payment of the University fee by the payment gateway.
The candidate should submit the printout of the filled-in online application form, provisional allotment order, and original certificates along with one set of attested copies to the Principal of the allotted college at the time of joining for final verification. In case of any discrepancy, the provisional allotment will be canceled.

University Fee -
All the selected candidates have to pay the University fee of Rs.8,600/- at the time of downloading the allotment order Online. University Fee, once paid, shall not be refunded under any circumstances. The counseling for admission will be made to the colleges affiliated for the year 2023-24 and subject to receipt of fee structure G.O. from the Govt. of Andhra Pradesh.
Seats vacant –
347 seats are there for BAMS and BHMS courses. BUMS, one college is there that is awaiting affiliation, so vacant seats are not yet declared.
