MCC NEET MDS 2024 Counselling: Know Reservation Policy Details Here
New Delhi- For the National Eligibility and Entrance Test- Master of Dental Surgery (NEET-MDS) Counselling 2024, the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has released the Information Bulletin detailing the reservation policy for AIQ, Deemed universities, DU, BHU and central universities quotas.
Interested candidates can take note of the reservation policy as detailed below from the information bulletin:-
FOR 50% ALL INDIA QUOTA
There will be four rounds of AIQ counselling i.e. Round 1, Round 2, AIQ Mop-up Rounds and AIQ Stray Vacancy Round. All candidates who have qualified for AIQ seats on the basis of their rank in NEET PG conducted by the National Board of Examination (NBE) will be eligible for participation in the counselling process. Eligible candidates may download the Rank letter/ Result from the NBE website. The cut-off rank of eligible candidates will also be available on the MCC official website.
OPEN SEATS-DOMICILE FREE INCLUDES
i 50% All India Quota seats.
ii 50% Seats of BHU.
iii 50% Seats of AMU.
iv 50% All India Quota seats of DU/Central Institutes.
RESERVATION POLICY
1 Reservation Policy of the Central Government for the NEET-PGCounselling in All India Quota is as follows-
i S.C.- 15%.
ii S.T.- 7.5%.
iii O.B.C.- (Non-Creamy Layer) as per the Central OBC list- 27%.
iv EWS- as per Central Government norms- 10%.
2 Candidates who want to avail 5% PwD reservation in PG seats of Govt. /Central medical institutions should obtain Disability certificate as per 21 Benchmark Disabilities, from the designated disability centres. The certificate issued by any other hospital/ board will not be accepted.
3 Candidates declared Qualified/Eligible for AIQ Postgraduate Seats only will be eligible for the online allotment process for All India Quota Seats, which is conducted by the Medical Counseling Committee (MCC), Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, & Government of India. For State Quota, Private medical and dental college seats the candidates are required to contact the appropriate State Government/Admission Authority & Directorate of Medical Education. The Medical Counseling Committee (MCC) will not be able to guide candidates in this matter.
ROSTER
The 3200 point roster on the 50% AIQ seats shall be applied by the MCC of DGHS, MoHFW as per the reservation policy.
ELIGIBILITY CONDITION
i The Candidate should have qualified NEET PG.
ii Domicile free.
CONVERSION ALGORITHM
The conversion of seats will be carried out during the online mop-up round. The said conversion will be done only when the eligible Candidates belonging to the said Category have been exhausted. The algorithm for the conversion of the category is as follows-

DEEMED UNIVERSITY
1 There will be four rounds of Counseling i.e., Round 1 & Round 2, third Round & Stray Vacancy Round and all the rounds will be conducted by MCC.
2 The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) of DGHS, MoHFW, shall conduct the counselling for the Stray Vacancy Round of 100% (ALL) seats of Deemed Universities.
3 All the candidates who have qualified for All India Quota seats based on their rank in NEET PG conducted by NBE including candidates from Union Territory of J&K will be eligible. Eligible candidates may download the Rank letter/Result from the NBE website.
RESERVATION POLICY
The eligible Indian National Candidates wanting to get converted to the sponsored NRI category have to submit the following documents as and when the MCC calls for the same-
1 Document claiming that the sponsorer is an NRI (Passport, Visa of the sponsorer).
2 Affidavit from the sponsorer that he/ she will sponsor the entire course fee of the candidate duly notarised.
3 Embassy Certificate of the Sponsorer (Certificate from the Consulate).
4 NEET Score Card of the candidate.
5 Family tree notarized by the Tehsildar.
6 There will be no reservation for OBC/ SC/ ST/ PWD/EWS candidates in Deemed Universities.
There might be reservations for Jain Minority or Muslim Minority in certain deemed universities. Candidates are requested to verify their eligibility for the same before applying under the said category.
Candidates claiming reservation under NRI Quota will not be able to claim reservation status under any other quota i.e. Jain Minority/Muslim Minority/any other quota.
The OCI cardholders will now be eligible for the rights which were provided to them earlier to the impugned. They will be treated at par with Indian citizens and will be eligible for UR (General) category seats as well as NRI seats for NEET (UG)-2024 and NEET (PG)-2024 for counselling conducted by MCC.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
1 The Candidate should have qualified NEET PG.
2 Domicile free
CONVERSION OF SEATS
Seats for NRI/Jain Minority/Muslim Minority will be converted to Deemed University Merit seats for UR Category after the exhaustion of all the eligible candidates for NRI seats/ Jain Minority seats/Muslim Minority seats during the Mop-Up round.
CENTRAL UNIVERSITY/INSTITUTE
There will be four rounds of counseling i.e., Round 1, Round 2, third Round & Stray Vacancy Round to be conducted by MCC of DGHS.
All the candidates who have qualified for All India Quota seats based on their rank in NEET MDS conducted by NBE will be eligible for the Fifty per cent (50%) AIQ seats of Central University.
DISCLAIMER
1 The counselling for 50% AIQ is domicile free.
2 The eligibility conditions for the internal quota is given by the colleges/institutes, MCC has no role to play in determining the eligibility conditions for the internal quota of the Central Universities/Institutes.
3 The Candidates are requested to go through the eligibility conditions before applying for the internal quota of the Central Universities/Institutes and ensure that they meet the prescribed eligibility conditions.
4 If any Candidate at any stage of the counselling process is found to have furnished any incorrect/wrong information concerning his/her eligibility condition, his/her candidature shall be cancelled for the further rounds of the counselling and the security deposit shall be forfeited.
5 Reservation of seats under the PWD Category is 5% in Central Universities and the 21 Benchmark Disabilities. For a range of disabilities included.
6 Candidates who want to avail 5% PwD reservation in PG seats of Govt. /Central medical institutions should obtain Disability certificates as per NMC norms, from the designated disability centres.
7 The certificate issued by any other hospital/ board will not be accepted.
8 The conversion of seats will be carried out during the Mop Up Round for Central Universities/Institutes. The said conversion will be done only when the Candidates belonging to the said Category have exhausted.
DELHI UNIVERSITY (DU)
Fifty percent (50%) seats will be contributed by Delhi University to All India Quota. For the remaining 50% of seats, candidates who have completed their BDS from DU are eligible for an Internal Quota of 50% in Delhi University.
RESERVATION POLICY FOR AIQ SEATS AND INTERNAL SEATS OF DU
1 The reservation policy of the Central Government is followed-
i S.C.-15%.
ii S.T.-7.5%.
iii O.B.C.-(Non-Creamy Layer) as per the Central OBC list-27%.
iv EWS-as per Central Government norms-10%.
v PwD- Horizontal Reservation as per NMC norms-5%.
2 Reservation of seats under the PWD Category is 5% in AIQ and the twenty-one Benchmark Disabilities as envisaged and as per NMC norms. For a range of disabilities included.
3 Candidates who want to avail of 5% PWD reservation in PG seats of Govt./Central medical institutions should obtain Disability certificate, from the designated disability centres. The certificate issued by any other hospital/board will not be accepted.
ROSTER
The roster on the 50% AIQ as well as 50% Internal seats will be applied by the MCC of DGHS, MoHFW.
ELIGIBILITY CONDITIONS FOR DU INTERNAL QUOTA
The candidate must have passed the final BDS examination (for the MDS Course) from the University of Delhi and must have completed satisfactorily one year of compulsory rotating internship as of 30th June of the year of admission and must submit their internship completion certificate at the time of admission.
However, the eligibility condition for internal quota is provided by DU. MCC has no role to play in this regard.
ALIGARH MUSLIM UNIVERSITY (AMU)
Fifty per cent (50%) of Seats will be contributed by the AMU to the All India Quota. For the remaining 50% of seats, candidates who have completed their BDS from AMU are eligible for internal seats of 50% in AMU.
RESERVATION POLICY FOR AIQ SEATS
1 The reservation policy of the Central Government is followed-
i S.C.-15%.
ii S.T.-7.5%.
iii O.B.C.-(Non-Creamy Layer) as per the Central OBC list-27%.
iv EWS-as per Central Government norms-10%.
v PwD- Horizontal Reservation as per NMC norms-5%.

An Institutional (Internal) candidate has passed the qualifying examination (BDS as applicable) from AMU and completes his/her internship as per the dates specified by AMU authorities.
However, the eligibility condition for internal quota is provided by AMU. MCC has no role to play in this regard.
BANARAS HINDU UNIVERSITY (BHU)
Fifty per cent (50%) of Seats will be contributed by the BHU to the All India Quota. For the remaining 50% of seats, candidates who have completed their BDS from BHU are eligible for internal seats of 50% in AMU.
RESERVATION POLICY FOR AIQ SEATS
1 The reservation policy of the Central Government is followed-
i S.C.-15%.
ii S.T.-7.5%.

ELIGIBILITY CONDITIONS FOR BHU INTERNAL QUOTA
Only those Candidates who have passed BDS from the Institute of Medical Sciences, BHU as per the internship dates specified by IMS, BHU will be eligible, provided the Candidates have appeared and qualified in the NEET-MDS Examination.
However, the eligibility condition for internal quota is provided by BHU. MCC has no role to play in this regard.
