DME Telangana Invites Applications for Vacant Faculty Posts in 8 New Medical Colleges, Details

Hyderabad: In an attempt to fill up the posts at the newly constituted medical colleges in the State, the Director of Medical Education Department, Telangana has invited applications for the posts of Professor, Associate Professor, and Assistant Professors.

These appointments will be made on contractual basis for a period of one year and those interested have been directed to send their applications to the DME before 5 p.m. on October 28.

After being selected for the posts, a Professor will receive a monthly salary of Rs 1,90,000, the Associate Professors will receive Rs 1,50,000 and the Assistant Professors will get Rs 1,25,000 per month.

Medical Dialogues had earlier reported that the Telangana Government had formally applied to the erstwhile Medical Council of India (MCI), now National Medical Commission (NMC), and sought its permission for the eight new government medical colleges with an intake capacity of 150 MBBS seats each.

As the visit for NMC is pending in December 2021, the Department of Medical Education (DME) Telangana had been trying to make all the arrangements in the proposed hospitals. The Government had started filling up the posts of DME Doctors, Para Medical Staff and other requirements as per the NMC guidelines.

Now, the State DME has released the final notification for appointment to the posts of Professor, Associate Professor, and Assistant Professor on a contract basis in the 8 Government medical colleges in Wanaparthy, Nagarkurnool, Mahbubabad, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Jagtial, Sanga Reddy, Mancherial, and Ramagundam.

Appointments in these posts will be made for a period of one year in Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, Pharmacology, Pathology, Microbiology, Forensic Medicine, Community Medicine, General Medicine, Dermatology, Psychiatry, Orthopedics, Anaesthesiology, Radiodiagnosis, and Emergency Medicine.

The notification further mentions that the applications from eligible candidates should be submitted online with all the necessary documents by 28-10-2021, before 5.00 P.M. The final selection list will be declared on October 31 and the last date of joining has been fixed as November 7.

Those selected for the posts of Professor will receive a monthly salary of Rs 1,90,000, the Associate Professors will receive Rs 1,50,000 and the Assistant Professors will get Rs 1,25,000 per month.

Besides, the faculties of Anatomy, Physiology and Biochemistry will receive an additional 50,000 rupees as a special incentive over and above the consolidated remuneration.

Assistant Professor for 4 years in the concerned subject in a recognized/permitted/approve d medical college/institute with 2 research publications in indexed journals on cumulative basis with minimum of 2 research publications during the tenure as Assistant Professor, as first author or corresponding author*

MBBS and Additional qualification registered with Telangana State Medical Council**.

Assistant Professor

A Postgraduate qualification MD/MS in concerned specialty and as per TEQ regulations of MCI (Minimum qualifications for teachers in medical institutions regulations 1998 including prevailing amendments)

Clinical: 3 years teaching experience as resident/tutor and 1 year as Senior Resident in the concerned subject in a recognized medical college.

Non- Clinical: 3years teaching experience as resident/ tutor and 1 year teaching experience after obtaining post graduate degree(MD) as tutor/Senior resident in the concerned subject in a recognized medical

MBBS and Additional qualification registered with Telangana State Medical Council**.

** The selection will be based on (TEQ) teacher eligibility qualification as per latest NMC guidelines.

*** Outside state candidates should get their qualification registered from Telangana State Medical Council within one week of selection, for their appointment to be confirmed.

1.The selected faculty will be eligible for thirty (30) days leave in a calendar year on cumulative basis.

2.The appointment as contract employee is purely on temporary basis for a period of one year or till the vacancies are filled by promotion / regular appointment, whichever is earlier. This contract placement does not confer any right for future Government appointment.

3.The contract is liable to be terminated at any time with a one-month notice during tenure period, without assigning any reason whatsoever. The selected faculty may terminate the contract any time with one month's notice.

4.The engaged faculty will be at the disposal of the institute on whole time basis and his/her service may be utilized in any manner required by the Competent Authority of the Institute without any claims for any additional remuneration.

5.The selected candidate will be posted as per their options depending on the availability of vacancy in that institute in a sliding manner .Preference of same place posting will be considered if couples are applying for posts subject to availability of vacancies .

6.The Application form along with guideline is available at DME website (http://dme.telangana.gov.in)

a. Aadhar Card and PAN Card

b. Proof of Date of Birth (SSC/Birth Certificate)

c. Study/Bonafide certificates 1st to 7th class.

d. MBBS and MD/MS/DNB Degree

e. MBBS registration from Telangana/AP Medical council, PG qualification registration from Telangana State medical council only (without the registration the application will be rejected for local candidates of Telangana )

**. Outside state candidate should submit their state Medical Council Registration Certificate and get their Certificates registered from Telangana State medical council within one week of their selection, for their appointment to be confirmed.

f. Copy of experience certificate for all teaching appointments held.

g. Senior Resident/Tutor experience certificate for Assistant Professor Post if applicable.

h. Copies of Publications with proof of indexation.

i. One set of Self attested Xerox copies of above documents to be uploaded online.

j. A self-declaration form stating that they did not appear for NMC assessment on and after 31st July 2021.

Note: The original certificates MBBS, MD/MS/DNB degree along with MBBS registration and MS/MD/DNB Degree/Specialty degree registration, experience certificate and publication have to be produced at the time of Joining . Incomplete applications will be rejected.

SHORTLISTED PROFESSOR & ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR CANDIDATES WILL BE CALLED FOR VERIFICATION OF THE CERTIFICATES ,EXPERIENCE CERTIFICATES AND PUBLICATIONS BEFORE GIVING APPOINTMENT LETTERS .THEY HAVE TO ATTEND THE INTERVIEW AT DME OFFICE AT THEIR OWN COST.

SELECTED ASSISTANT PROFESSOR CANDIDATES HAVE TO REPORT AT RESPECTIVE INSTITUTIONS FOR VERIFICATION OF CERTIFICATES AND APPOINTMENT ORDERS.

Selection Criteria – Candidates will be selected based on the following criteria:

Marks obtained in MD/MS/DNB PG Degree for Assistant Professor posts. (If marks are not awarded in the qualifying exam 50% of marks will be considered)

For Professor and Associate Professor the duration of their teaching experience in that Cadre will be considered for Selection Criteria .

Rule of Reservation will be followed wherever applicable.
