New Delhi: Amidst the escalating demands for postponing the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test Postgraduate (NEET-PG) examination 2022, a fake NBE notice is doing rounds on the internet claiming that the exam has been deferred to July 9, 2022.

The notice circulated further via news articles and the aspirants started expressing their happiness over the development. However, soon, it came out to be a 'fake' as the National Board of Examinations (NBE) also issued a notice raising alarm against "Spoofed Notices".

In the fake NBE notice it was being claimed that the PG medical entrance has been postponed as the notice stated, "The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW), Govt of India vide its letter no. V.11025/215/2022 MEP(FTS- 8079808) dated 25.04.2022 has directed that over five thousand interns are ineligible for the exams and due to insufficient time between the counselling of previous NEET PG and exams hence conduct of NEET-PG 2022 examination scheduled to be held on 21th of may 2022 is to be postponed."

"The next date of NEET-PG 2022 examination will commence on 9th of July 2022," the fake NBE notice claimed.

However, the notice turned out to be a fake as the NBEMS issued a warning today against "Spoofed Notices", and stated, "It is reiterated that NBEMS publishes various notices pertaining to its activities on its official websites https://natboard.edu.in only. Stakeholders are advised to visit the above indicated website for the current & authentic information regarding NBEMS."

Referring to the fake notices circulating false information, NBEMS further informed, "It has come to the notice of NBEMS that some unscrupulous elements are circulating false and bogus information using spoofed notices in the name of NBEMS."

"All NBEMS Notices issued July 2020 onwards bear a QR code. Scanning the QR code will redirect the user to the said notice on NBEMS website. Stakeholders are advised not to be allured or misled by any unverified notice and should cross verify any information regarding NBEMS through its website," further mentioned the notice.
"For any query, please contact NBEMS Candidate Care Support at 011-45593000 or write to NBEMS at its Communication Web Portal https://exam.natboard.edu.in/communication.php?page=main," it added.
Meanwhile, such a fake news amidst the ongoing tension surrounding the demands for deferring the exam has upset the aspirants, who took to Twitter to take out their frustrations.

The notice NBE just realised saying fake notice is circulating tells that NBE/NMC/Ministry knows everything happening on social media, still ignoring us. They can put out a notice for a fake notice just 1 hour ago, but cant give appointment us from 15 days.#Postpone_NEETPG2022

Another user criticized NBE and mentioned, "Nbe took 2 mins to realease a notice for fake notice but nothing related to postponement."

NEET PG 2022, which is the centralized common entrance test for admission to PG medical courses across India, was earlier scheduled on March 12. However, after the students cited that the exam date was clashing with NEET-PG 2021 counselling and approached the Supreme Court, the Health Ministry intervened and NBE postponed the exam to May 21.
The aspirants are again demanding postponement of the exam as they have pointed out that the counselling process will be completed in May, the same month the exam is scheduled to take place.
Medical Associations such as AIMSA and FAIMA have extended their support to the demands of the aspirants and AIMSA has already approached the Supreme Court in this regard.
