Indian Medical student dies, 2 injured in road accident in Kazakhstan

New Delhi: In a tragic incident, an Indian Medical student died in a road accident in Kazakhstan, while two others were injured during an excursion trip.
This information was shared by the Indian Embassy on Tuesday via X (formerly Twitter). The statement on X said that 11 Indian students from Semey Medical University were involved in an accident while returning from their trip.
The deceased has been identified as a 25-year-old student. The condition of 2 injured students is stable, and they are currently receiving treatment at City Hospital
According to the NDTV media news report, the embassy stated, "According to the latest information, his condition is stable. The embassy expresses its deepest condolences to the bereaved family of the deceased. The embassy is in contact with the university, hospital authorities, and the families”.
The embassy said they are working closely with hospital officials and local authorities to ensure assistance is provided. "Family members of the injured students have arrived in Kazakhstan and remain in close touch with the Embassy. We are working closely with the families and extending every possible support during this extremely difficult time. The Embassy is also making all necessary arrangements to repatriate the mortal remains of the two deceased students to India on a priority basis," it further added.
Meanwhile, Medical Dialogues had reported last year that a medical student died of a heart attack in Kazakhstan, where he was pursuing his MBBS degree. On the day of the incident, after dinner, he went for a walk, but when he returned, his health had suddenly deteriorated. Seeing his condition, his friends took him to the hospital, but by then, he had died. After reaching the hospital, he was officially declared dead.
