MBBS student airlifted from Kazakhstan after brain stroke, dies in Jaipur

Jaipur: In an unfortunate incident, the final-year MBBS student from Shahpura, who was studying in Kazakhstan, passed away recently after battling for his life. He was brought back to India on a ventilator through an air ambulance just days earlier.
Rahul Ghosaliya, was fighting for his life after suffering a brain stroke on October 8, 2025, while studying at Karaganda Medical University in Kazakhstan.
Following the incident, he was admitted to a hospital in Bishkek in critical condition. His situation drew widespread concern and emotional appeals from medical students and doctors across India, who took to social media, urging the government to intervene and bring him back home for treatment.

Responding to the calls for help, Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma had then directed officials to contact the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) to arrange for Rahul’s airlift at government expense. The Indian Embassy in Kazakhstan also closely monitored his condition, coordinating with Indian and Kazakh doctors as well as university authorities to plan his medical care.
After several discussions and permissions, Rahul was finally airlifted to Jaipur’s Sawai Man Singh (SMS) Hospital on Diwali. Sadly, despite all efforts, Rahul succumbed to his illness on Sunday.
In a heartfelt message, the All FMGs Association (AFA) expressed deep grief over his passing, "With heavy hearts, we share the news of Rahul Ghosliya’s passing today after a courageous battle for life. His bravery, strength, and resilience were a light to all who knew him. Though he has left this world, his spirit and the memories of his fight will forever inspire us. We pray for his soul to find peace and for comfort to embrace those who loved him dearly."
