JIPMER further extends tenure of PG Resident Doctors

Puducherry: Through a recent circular, the premier Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER) has informed about the extension in the tenure of all Final year Junior Residents (2017 July Batch) pursuing MD/MS course, who are appearing for the final examination in July 2020.
This effect is in pursuance of the earlier notice released by the JIPMER wherein the Medical Dialogues had reported about the extension in the residency period of all final year PG and super speciality medicos who are going to appear in July 2020 exit examinations.
The institute, had, however, clarified that it is going to continue to pay the all final year (2017 July batch) Junior Residents (MD/MS) & Senior Residents (DM/MCh) their stipends as per the norms during this extension period.

Now, in continuation this extension of the Residency period, the JIPMER has released the recent circular further extending the tenure of the concerned PG Medicos.
"It is to bring to the notice of all Final year Junior Residents (2017 July Batch) pursuing MD/MS course, who are appearing for the final examination in July 2020, that the Residency period has been extended for another 3 months, till 31st October 2020. During the extension period, all existing rules applicable to their appointment will continue to apply including, salary and other benefits."
