New Delhi: The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, has released the schedule and admission details for the online seat allocation through the Institute of National Importance Combined Entrance Test (INI CET) July 2026 session.
Eligible candidates seeking admission to MD, MS, MDS, DM (6 years), and MCh (6 years) programmes across participating Institutes of National Importance (INIs) will be required to complete choice filling and seat allocation-related processes as per the notified timeline.
The schedule of online seat allocation (including MOCK Round) will be opened for admission to PG courses of INIs for July 2026 session as per details given below:

The online PG Seat allocation will be done in following steps for 1st Round:

How do I make choices (Institute and subject/speciality)?

To add a choice, choose the Institute and the subject/speciality from the two separate drop-down menus and Click Add choice. Do I have to make choices (Institute and subject/speciality) in one go?
No, you can make choices (Institute and subject/speciality), edit or reorder them as many times you wish UNLESS you have already submitted and locked the choices (Institute and subject/speciality) OR the last date and time for 1st Round is over. You must save the choices (Institute and subject/speciality) in case you wish to further add/delete/reorder them at a later time point (before the last date and time for 1st Round)
How do I order and reorder the choices (Institute and subject/speciality)?
The default order of your choices (Institute and subject/speciality) will be the order in which you add choice (Institute and subject/speciality). To reorder your choices, use up and down arrows OR Drag and Drop the choice (Institute and subject/speciality) to appropriate position in the list.
How do I save choices of Institute and subject/speciality?
Click on the Save button to save the choices of Institute and subject/speciality and their order.
How do I Submit and Lock the choices (Institute and subject/speciality)?
You have to click on the Submit and Lock Choices tab and tick the checkbox I accept the declaration and click on the submit and Lock choices (Institute and subject/speciality). Note that you will be prompted twice to reconsider and after you have submitted and locked your choices (Institute and subject/speciality), you cannot change it for further Rounds. Choices and their order once Submitted and Locked cannot be changed thereafter for further round.
What happens if I have saved the choices (Institute and subject/speciality) but could not submit and lock the choices (Institute and subject/speciality).
The last saved choices (Institute and subject/speciality) and their order will be considered as submitted and locked choices (Institute and subject/speciality) and their order at the last date and time for 1st Round even if the candidate did not submit and lock the choices (Institute and subject/speciality) and their order.
Can I add/delete/reorder the choices (Institute and subject/speciality)?
The choices (Institute and subject/speciality) can be edited (add/delete/reorder) ONLY if you have NOT submitted and locked your choice and before the last date and time for 1st Round.
Can I change the choices (Institute and subject/speciality) and their order after I have submitted and locked my choices?
No, once you have submitted and locked your choices (Institute and subject/speciality), they cannot be changed even if it is before the last date and time of submission.
Can I change the choices (Institute and subject/speciality) for next Round?
No, you cannot change the choices (Institute and subject/speciality) for 2nd Round of seat allocation. The allocation of 2nd Round will be done as per choice made by the candidate during exercising of Choice of 1stRound of seat allocation.
Can I view the choice that I have submitted and locked?
Yes, click View choices button after logging in the Online PG Seat allocation portal. You are advised to take printout of the same.
What is meant by “Actively Choose” of the allocated seat in the 1st Round?
If you have been allocated a seat in 1st Round of PG Online Seat allocation, then you are required to login within date and time specified in the Important dates link and select one of the following options:
Option 1. ACCEPT allotted seat and DO NOT WISH TO PARTICIPATE in further rounds of Seat Allocation
Option 2. ACCEPT allotted seat and WANT TO PARTICIPATE in 2nd ROUND of Seat Allocation
Failure to login and selecting an option within date and time specified in the Important Date link will lead to forfeiture of the allotted seat and render you ineligible for 2nd round.
What happens if I am allocated seat and I do not login and select any of options mentioned in FAQ no 14.
It is mandatory to login after results of online seat allocation and if you do not login and actively select any of the options mentioned in the answers to the FAQ no. 14, then your candidature will be nullified, and you will not be eligible for 2nd Round of online Seat Allocation. It is advisable to make these choices as soon as possible within the dates mentioned
I am a sponsored/foreign national candidate, do I have to login and follow the process for online seat allocation.
Yes, you are required to participate in the Online Seat allocation for all INIs. Common seat allocation of Sponsored Category for all INIs including PGIMER Chandigarh will be done.

ELIGIBILITY:
Eligibility criteria as per INI-CET Prospectus Part-A & Part-B including any notices published has been applied considering the information provided by the candidates in online registration form.
All the candidates who have been listed in the Result Notification No.175/2026 dated 23.06.2026 will be eligible to participate in the 1st and 2nd Round of the Online Seat Allocation except rank of OBC/EWS candidates lower than the cut off rank of UR who failed to produce valid category certificate. This shall be subjected to the fulfilment of the eligibility criteria as mentioned in the prospectus/notices published on website
PROCEDURE:
1. The Eligible candidate can access the online seat allocation portal through link available after login in their login page where they have applied for INICET July 2026 Session.
2. To retrieve the login credentials, click on the Forgot your login details button in the Registration/login Page.
3. The PG Online Seat Allocation portal will allow candidates to make choices of seats (a combination of Institute and subject/speciality) as per his/her eligibility. The candidate can arrange the choices in desired order preference. There is no limitation on number of choices (Institute & Subject/Speciality) that can be made by the candidates. The choices can be edited and reordered within the date and time specified in the Important Dates link in the Portal.
4. Kindly note that the choices cannot be edited and reordered after closing date of exercising of Choice of 1st Round of seat allocation. The allocation of 2nd Round will be done as per choices made by the candidates during exercising of Choice of 1st Round of seat allocation.
5. The Portal will remain open on dates specified in the Important Dates link in the Portal. The choices made by the candidate will be locked either by the candidate OR will be automatically locked on the last Date and Time as specified in the Important Dates link in the Portal.
6. A Mock Seat Allocation will be done prior to 1st Round of Seat Allocation (not a final allocation). The mock seat allocation represents the likely seat, that a candidate may be allocated as per choices made by the candidate. The result of mock round seat allocation will be announced as per date specified in the Important Dates link. The candidate can register/edit/reorder their choices before the closing dates of choices for the 1st Round as per Important Dates link in the Portal.
7. Those who will not login during exercising of choices (Institute and subject/speciality) for First Round their order of choice will be considered as per choices made during Mock Round.
8. INSTITUTE PREFERENCE:
a) AIIMS New Delhi & other AIIMS- The allocation of Institute preferences will be done as per Roster Point Allocation for Counselling (Dynamic) which will be announced separately.
b) JIPMER, Puducherry: Allocation of Institute preference for JIPMER Puducherry candidates, seats shall be done as per Roster Point (Dynamic)
c) NIMHANS, Bengaluru: No seat available for Institute Preference.
d) PGIMER, Chandigarh: No seat available for Institute Preference.
e) SCTIMST, Trivandrum: No seat available for Institute Preference.
9. The mock seat allocation and seat allocation for 1st Round shall be done as per schedule specified in the Important Dates link.
10. All the candidates who have been allocated seats in the 1st Round are required to login to the PG Online Seat Allocation portal and actively choose one of the following options within date and time specified in the Important Dates link:
Option 1. ACCEPT allotted seat and DO NOT WISH TO PARTICIPATE in further rounds of Seat Allocation.
Option 2. ACCEPT allotted seat and WANT TO PARTICIPATE in 2nd ROUND of Seat Allocation [if You choose option-2 and participate in 2nd round and you are allocated another seat as per your choice in 2nd round, then you will have to join the seat allocated during 2nd round. The seat allocated in first round shall be considered vacated and the same shall be automatically allocated to other candidates in order of merit. Failure to join seat allotted in 1st round or upgraded seat shall lead to impositions of penalty of Rs. 3.00 Lakh.
Options to REFUSE the allocated seat is NOT available. Therefore, the candidates are requested to fill the choices carefully and responsibly. Candidate himself/herself shall be responsible for their choices.
Failure to login and selecting an option after seat allocation within date and time specified in the Important Dates link will lead to forfeiture of the allocated seat and render the candidate ineligible for further rounds except open round of Seat Allocation (if any).
11. All the candidates who are allocated seats are mandatorily required (irrespective of whether they choose in Option 1 and 2 as mentioned in point no. 9) to report in-person (for reporting and/or joining), to allocated Institute within the date and times specified in the Important Dates link. The candidates are required to submit original certificates OR deposit Rs. 3.00 Lakh as specified in result notification of the seat allocation of the 1st Round at the time of reporting.
12. Candidates availing constitutional reservation must show valid proof of their claim for reserved seat at the reporting INIs when they are depositing original certificates. In case they do not possess a valid certificate then their claim for the allocated reserved seat will be nullified, and they will be eligible to appear in the further round as UR candidate subject to cut off in UR merit list.
The OBC/EWS certificate must be valid for admission in Central Govt. Institution. The validity of OBC/EWS certified shall be as mentioned in the prospectus Part-A of INICET July 2026 Session.
13. Candidates availing PWBD horizontal reservation must show valid proof of their claim for allocated reserved seat at the reporting INIs when they are depositing original certificates.
Confirmation of admission shall be subject to verification of Disability by Medical Board of AIIMS, New Delhi as per schedule mentioned in the result of respective round of seat allocation. In case they do not possess a valid certificate then their claim for the reserved seat allocated will be nullified, and they will be eligible to appear further in their respective category (UR/OBC/SC/ ST/EWS) candidate as applicable without PWBD reservation subject to cut off in respective category.
14. The allocation of the PWBD candidates will be done as per Roster Point Allocation for counselling (Dynamic) of final seat position as published for admission to PG courses of respective INIs as applicable for July 2026 session.
15. FOREIGN NATIONAL CANDIDATES:
The seat allocation will be done in order of merit and according to choices made by the candidates as described in point no 2.
a) The candidates will be eligible to exercise of choice only as per Subject/ Institute those are filled in the online registration form.
b) All allocation of Foreign National candidates will be done on the basis of as per Subject/Institute filled in the online registration for July 2026 session.
c) Only one best Subject/Speciality and Institute available at that rank will be allocated during online seat allocation.
d) The process of admission will be done as per procedure available for other candidates.
16. SPONSORED CANDIDATES:
i. The seat allocation will be done in order of merit and according to choices made by the candidates as described in point no 2.
ii. In case any discrepancy found in online data with Sponsorship certificate valid information as in Sponsorship certificate will be accepted as per eligibility criteria.
iii. The candidates are eligible to exercise of choice only as per Subject/ Institute those are available in the Sponsorship Certificate.
iv. If the subject is not mentioned against the candidate name in the Sponsorship certificate, no allocation will be done for that institute.
v. If the subject is not mentioned against the candidate name in the Sponsorship certificate, but subject is available in the online registration, the candidate can make exercising of choices as per subject available in the online registration.
vi. All allocation of Sponsored candidates will be done on the basis of Subject/Institute available in the Sponsorship Certificate/online registration for July 2026 session.
vii. Only one best Subject/Speciality and Institute available at that rank will be allocated during online seat allocation.
viii. The process of admission will be done as per procedure available for other candidates.
17. Upper Age Limit
a) NIMHANS, Bengaluru (As on 1st July 2026): The age validation for Courses of NIMHANS under INI-CET for July 2026 session:
For MD Psychiatry Course:
• General/Unreserved Category’- 32 Years (Candidates Born on or after 01.07.1994 are eligible)
• ‘OBC Category’- 35 Years (Candidates Born on or after 01.07.1991 are eligible)
• ‘SC/ST/PWBD Category’-37 Years (Candidates Born on or after 01.07.1989 are eligible)
• ‘Sponsored Category’- 45 Years (Candidates Born on or after 01.07.1981 are eligible) DM (Neurology), M.Ch. Neurosurgery (Post MBBS category) Course & MD Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation -

Guidelines/Principles for 200 Point Roster creation for seat allocation for all AIIMS for PG seats in reference to determination of sequence of allocation of Institutional Preferential (IP) Seats in view of order of the Supreme Court of India in writ petition (civil) no.1329 of 2021
Guidelines for Seat Allocation of AIIMS PG Seats
The following guidelines will be followed for allocation of PG Seats at all AIIMS for INICET July 2026 session.
Counselling and Seat Allocation may be used interchangeably and mean one and the same thing. AIIMS at every instance refers to each individual AIIMS institution.
This document outlines the methodology and principles for developing the 200 Point Roster Model and its application in the allocation of PG seats across all AIIMS, specifically for Institutional Preference (IP) candidates. The roster is designed as per calculated percentages to determine the sequence of allocation for IP seat. It is emphasized that IP seats represent a preference and not a reservation, subject to the upper limit as defined by the governing rules.
Institutional Preference (IP) Candidates
To be considered for admission against Institutional Preference (IP) seats at each AIIMS, a candidate must have studied and obtained his/her MBBS Degree from the same AIIMS and must fulfil the eligibility for Unreserved (UR) candidates for Seat Allocation.
Criteria of Eligibility for Seat Allocation
a. Eligibility and Qualifying criteria published in the prospectus Part A will be applicable for all seats.
b. All eligible and qualified candidates will be considered for online Seat Allocation in order of merit.
c. Candidates will be considered for Seat Allocation only for the seats for which they fulfil the eligibility and qualifying criteria.
d. IP and PWBD candidates will also be eligible for UR seats or seats within their respective reservation category, on merit, if they qualify and fulfil the eligibility criteria for such seats.
Proposed method of calculation of IP Seats, UR Seats and Rosters for AIIMS PG Seats
a. A maximum of 50% of MBBS seats at respective AIIMS will be available as IP seats, provided that this number shall not be more than 50% of total UR seats (excluding MDS seats) for that institution.
b. MBBS seats at the respective AIIMS shall be determined as the number of MBBS seats at entry in the batch that most recently completed their MBBS (including internship).
c. Accordingly, for the current INICET July 2026 Session, the number of seats for MBBS for the 2020 batch at the respective AIIMS shall be considered. Process of calculation of percentages for plotting on the 200 Roster Model to determine the sequence of preference to be followed for Institutional Preference (IP) seat allocation for AIIMS are given at Annexure- 1.
d. For AIIMS where the MBBS course was not started in 2020, no IP Seats shall be available for INI-CET PG July 2026 session.
e. Subject-wise availability of seats for each category (except IP), including for PWBD, has been published as per the roster maintained by each AIIMS for each subject as per applicable constitutional reservations for different categories.
f. All 6-year DM/MCh seats shall be treated as Unreserved (UR) seats.
Allocation of Seats:
The 200 Roster Point system is prepared using IP percentages calculated as per ANNEXURE-1 for plotting on the 200 Roster Model to determine the sequence of allocation to be followed for Institutional Preference (IP) seat allocation. It is clarified that IP seats are not a reservation but a preference, subject to the upper limit defined in the applicable rules.
Seat allocation will be as per merit of the candidates at each roster-point and applicable rules & procedure starting from the first Roster Point for each AIIMS in first round.
In the second and subsequent rounds of seat allocation of current session the roster will begin from the point where first seat is vacated or likely to be vacated whichever is earlier from the previous round of allotment. Roster points on which candidates have confirmed admission will not be called for allocation in subsequent round of allocation.
At each roster-point, candidates of the reservation category of that roster-point will be considered for seat-allocation, as per merit.
Candidates will be allotted a seat available in their respective category as per their highest available choice for that institution.
When a candidate is considered for Seat Allocation against a reserved category roster point, he/she will only be considered for seats earmarked for that reserved category. However, if a candidate considered for seat allocation at a reserved roster-point is also the highest candidate in the overall UR merit at that point, he/she shall also be considered for allocation of the available seats at subsequent UR roster point for seats. If his/her highest choice is available both in the UR category and his/her reserved category, he/she shall be allotted the UR seat as a Meritorious Reserved Candidate if he/she is eligible for a UR seat.
PWBD reservation is a horizontal reservation and PWBD candidates will be considered only for the seats within their respective reservation categories i.e. for PWBD-UR seats, only PWBD candidates other than EWS/OBC/SC/ST will be considered, for PWBD-OBC seats only PWBD of OBC category, for PWBD-EWS seat only PWBD of EWS category, for PWBD-SC seat only PWBD of SC category, for PWBD-ST seat only PWBD of ST category and so on will be considered.
PwBD seats will be filled first in order of merit and constitutional reservations. Where no candidates are available in PWBD or no PWBD candidate has opted for available PWBD seats, such seats shall be added to their respective reservation category without PwBD reservation.
Any seat that remains unfilled will be converted as per following (only in Open round (if any)): -
1. EWS seats to UR
2. OBC seats to UR
3. ST seats to SC and if still unfilled, to UR
4. SC seats to ST and if still unfilled, to UR
