AIIMS invites applications for INI SS July 2025 Session, check all admission details here

New Delhi- The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, is inviting online applications from candidates for the Institute of National Importance Super-Speciality Entrance Test (INI-SS) for DM/MCh Courses, July 2025 Session. In this regard, AIIMS New Delhi has released a prospectus detailing Seat Position, Eligibility, schedule, Scheme of Examination, Application Fee, etc.
As per the prospectus, the Online Registration has already started and will end on 06 May 2025. Following this, the status of the application & rejected application process will start from 13 May 2025. Last date for submission of required documents for regularisation of the Rejected Application is scheduled till 16 May 2025. Below is the complete schedule-

SUBMISSION OF APPLICATION BY CANDIDATES WHO ARE EMPLOYED
The Institute does not have any objection if the candidates in employment apply for the DM/MCh postgraduate course (except candidates for sponsored candidates for all courses submit their applications directly, i.e. they are not required to submit their applications through a proper channel). However, all such candidates should inform their employer in writing that they are applying for this Entrance Examination. They should also sign the Undertaking in the downloaded copy of the Registration Slip that they have informed their employer about the submission of the application to AIIMS. If any communication is received from their department/office withholding permission to the candidate’s appearing at the entrance examination/admission to the course, the candidature/admission of the candidate will be cancelled, and no further correspondence in this regard will be entertained. (Sponsored candidates are required to route their Registration Slip through the proper channel.)

APPLICATION FEES
For all applicants, the application fee is Rs 4000.00 + Transaction Charges as applicable (Non-Refundable), however, PWBD candidates are exempt from paying any application fees.
AGE LIMITS & RELAXATIONS
1 For AIIMS New Delhi & Other AIIMS- Upper Age limit is 35 years as on 1st July, 2025, i.e. Born on or after 01.07.1990.
2 For PGIMER, Chandigarh- Upper Age limit is 45 years as on 1st July, 2025, i.e. Born on or after 01.07.1980
3 For NIMHANS, Bengaluru- Upper Age limit is 37 years as on 1st July, 2025, i.e. Born on or after 01.07.1988.
4 For SCTIMST, Trivandrum- Upper Age limit is 40 years as on 1st July, 2025, i.e. Born on or after 01.07.1985.
5 For JIPMER, Puducherry- No Upper Age Limit-
6 Age Relaxation applicable at all INIs-
i The upper age limit is relaxable for OBC Candidates by a maximum of 3 years.
ii Upper age limit is relaxable in case of SC/ST candidates by a maximum of 5 years.
iii Upper age limit is relaxable for Ex-Serviceman and Commissioned Officer, including ECO, SSCO, who have rendered or released on satisfactory assignment with age relaxation by a maximum of 5 years.
iv However, for admission to SCTIMST, the upper age limit for the sponsored category would be 50 years.
v The persons with benchmark disabilities shall be given an upper age relaxation of five years for admission to DM/M.Ch. for PWD candidates as per the Right of Persons with Disability Act, 2016.
vi At NIMHANS Bengaluru, the Upper age limit is 37 years as on 1st July, 2025, i.e. Born on or after 01.01.1988, for all Category Candidates, i.e. for UR, OBC, EWS, SC, ST & PWBD.

Examination will be conducted in two stages performance evaluation basis as described below-

B STAGE II- APPLICABLE TO ALL AIIMS/PGIMER, CHANDIGARH ONLY
1 Candidate must secure 50% or more marks in Stage-I [as per the decision of the meeting of the 116th Academic Committee.
2 Candidate must have applied in online registration for AIIMS/PGIMER Chandigarh seats in the respective speciality/course.
3 Candidate must be eligible as per the eligibility criteria of AIIMS/PGIMER Chandigarh.
4 Out of the candidates who fulfill above criteria, candidates- 3(three) times the number of seats advertised for AIIMS/PGIMER Chandigarh Combined OR 2(two) times the total number of seats in AIIMS/PGIMER Chandigarh & other INIs whichever is higher or as decided by the competent authority at the time of declaration of result will be called for departmental clinical/practical/lab-based assessment (carrying 20 marks) related to subspecialty/systems/component of the specialty/course for which the candidate has applied in respective department at AIIMS, New Delhi.
5 To qualify for AIIMS/PGIMER Chandigarh Seat allocation, a candidate must obtain 50 % or more marks in Stage I & Stage II combined.
6 In case a candidate gets marks more than 50% in Stage I but less than 50 % marks in Stage I & II combined, he/she will not be treated as qualified for AIIMS/PGIMER Chandigarh Seats.
7 Candidates called for departmental assessment (Stage – II) and remain absent in Stage – II, he/she will not be treated as qualified for AIIMS/PGIMER Chandigarh Seats.

1 The applicants are required to indicate his/her choice of three cities for appearing in the examination.
2 The allocation of cities for taking the examination will be based on the Completion of the Application (first come-first allotted) and availability of computer nodes in the city. Applicants are therefore advised to complete process of application process at the earliest without waiting for the last date.
3 The choice of cities made by the applicant cannot be changed after submission of the Application. The applicants should therefore make choices with utmost care.

Two lists of qualified candidates in order of merit will be declared based on performance in Stage I & Stage II examination (as applicable) as described below-

1 Candidate must have appeared in the test for Stage I.
2 All qualified candidates in Stage I examination as per the scheme of examination will be assigned a rank and will be placed in the list in order of overall rank.
3 This merit list (CML) will be used for allocation of seats in all INI except AIIMS & PGIMER as per the method of allocation.
B AIIMS MERIT LIST (AML)
1 This Merit List (AML) will be used for the allocation of Seats in all AIIMS and PGIMER Chandigarh only.
2 Candidate must have appeared & qualified in both examinations, Stage I & Stage I,I as per the scheme of examination described above.
3 The list will be based on marks obtained in Stage I & Stage II combined (100 marks) for qualified candidates only.
4 All qualified candidates will be assigned a rank and will be placed in the list in order of overall rank.
SEAT ALLOCATION OF INI-SS
Seat allocation will be done online based on both merit lists (CML/AML) as perthe following procedure-
1 Results & Procedure of seat allocation in detail will be declared on the official website of AIIMS, New Delhi.
2 Institute-wise synchronised allocation of seats will be carried on based on overall rank in CML/AML and choices in order of preference as filled by the candidate.
4 Single Best choice available seat at merit rank will be allocated in INIS based on both the Merit List, i.e., CML and AML.
5 All eligible candidate will be allowed to fill online choices of INI and their order of preferences, subject to eligibility as per both merit lists after declaration of results and the seat will be allocated as per the following method-
i Seat allocation will be in order of overall rank in the respective merit list (CML/AML).
ii Where a candidate is eligible in CML only, he/she will be allocated a seat in INI other than AIIMS & PGIMER Chandigarh as available at his rank in order of preference filled during online choice.
iii Where a candidate is eligible in CML and AML both, he/she will be temporarily allocated the best available choice of respective INI other than AIIMS & PGIMER Chandigarh as per merit in CML and the best available choice of respective AIIMS & PGIMER Chandigarh as per merit in AML. Out of the temporarily allocated choices as per merit in both CML & AML, the best choice of INI in order of preference will be allocated.
iv A similar procedure of seat allocation will be applicable to qualified Sponsored/Foreign National category candidates, limited to seats declared & applied under the Sponsored/Foreign National category. v. Seats are strictly non-convertible/non-interchangeable between different sub-groups unless expressly mentioned as per the rules applicable at any of the participating INI. vi. Any seat remaining vacant in respective subgroups (General Seats, Sponsored Seats & Foreign National Seats) shall be carried forward for the next session.
