Centre Allocates Four MBBS Seats in 3 medical colleges Under Central Pool for Children, Spouses of Terror Victims for 2026-27
New Delhi- The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has announced the allocation of four MBBS seats from the Central Pool for the academic year 2026-27 to eligible spouses and children of civilian victims of terrorism.
The seats have been earmarked across three medical colleges in Bihar, Maharashtra and Chhattisgarh. As per the MHA notification in this regard, one seat has been allocated to AN Magadh Medical College in Gaya, Bihar, one to Grant Medical College in Mumbai, Maharashtra, and two seats to Pt. JNM Medical College in Raipur, Chhattisgarh.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
1 Candidate must either be a spouse or child of the deceased/disabled civilian victim of terrorism.
2 He/she has completed 17 years of age at the time of admission or will complete the age on or before 3l"t December of the year of his/her admission to the first year of the Undergraduate Medical Course and is an Indian National.
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION
As per Graduate Medical Education Regulations of the National Medical Commission, the candidate must have passed in subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biologr/Bio-Technologr and English individually and must have obtained a minimum of 50% marks for Unreserved & Gen-EWS category; 4Ooh marks for SC/ST/OBC category. For persons with disabilities (PwD) - 45o/o marks for Unreserved & Gen-EWS category; 4Ooh rnarks for SC/STIOBC category, taken together in Physics, Chemistry, Biologr/Biotechnology at the qualifying examination.
QUALIFYING PERCENTILE IN NEET UG 2026
As per the Graduate Medical Education Regulations of the National Medical Commission, it shall be necessary for the candidates to obtain a minimum 50th percentile for Unreserved & Gen-EWS category; 40th percentile for SC/ST/OBC category. For persons with disabilities (PwD) - 45th percentile for Unreserved & Gen-EWS category; 40th percentile for SC/ST/OBC category. The percentile shall be determined on the basis of the highest marks secured in the All India common merit list in the National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test for admission to MBBS/BDS courses.
SELECTION PRIORITY
1 Priority-I: Children whose both parents have been killed by terrorists.
2 Priority-II: Children of families whose sole breadwinner has been killed by terrorists.
3 Priority-III: Wards of victims with permanent disability and serious injury caused by terrorist operations.
4 Subject to the fulfilment of eligibility criteria as laid down in para 2 above, all candidates in Priority-I category would be allotted available seats on the basis of rank obtained in the NEET (UG)-2O26 conducted by National Testing Agency.
5 If any seats are still available for allotment after covering all eligible candidates in Priority-I category, candidates in Priority-II would be allotted the available seats on the basis of the rank obtained in NEET (UG)-2026.
6 After allotting seats to all eligible candidates in Priority-I and then in Priority-II category, the balance available seats would be allotted to candidates in Priority-III category on the basis of the rank obtained in NEET (UG)-2O26.
7 The benefits against Priority-I or Priority-II or Priority-III would be restricted only to one ward of the civilian victims of terrorists. If this benefit has already been availed of in respect of one ward, then the second ward would not be eligible to be considered against these reserved seats.
Meanwhile, State Government (s) / Union Territory Administration (s) have been instructed to give wide publicity while inviting application (s) from eligible candidates as indicated above for the academic year 2026-27 for allocation of MBBS seats for Civilian Victims of Terrorism.
It may also be ensured that complete applications of eligible candidates, enclosing all necessary documents in respect of their States/UTs, are sent along with due verification/authentication and countersignatures of the Competent Authority.
It is requested that applications along with all documents duly attested by the Home Department of the concerned State/UT of eligible candidates under the category of Civilian Victims of Terrorism be sent by speed post/registered post. Scanned copies of the application along with all documents should also be sent via e-mail.
Self-attested copies of the following documents along with the application-
i A copy of marksheeUcertificate of 1Oth Class.
ii A copy of marksheeUcertificate of 12th Class.
iii Copy of Category Certificate.
iv Copy of admit card of NEET (UG)-2026 Exam.
v Copy of result declared by NTA with regard to NEET (UG) - 2026 Exam.
vi A notarised affidavit.
It may kindly be noted that only the application received by 12 September 2026 in the Ministry of Home Affairs will be considered for allotment of the above-mentioned seats. No extension of the last date and no reminder will be issued.
