MCC releases NEET 2026 counselling user guide, details registration, choice filling, seat allotment procedure

New Delhi: The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has released a detailed Candidate User Guide for the NEET UG Counselling 2026, explaining the online process from registration and application submission to choice locking, seat allotment, document verification, willingness submission and withdrawal from counselling.

The guide provides step-by-step instructions, supported by screenshots of the MCC counselling portal, for candidates seeking admission to MBBS, BDS and participating BSc Nursing courses through the centralised counselling process.

CANDIDATE REGISTRATION

According to the guide, Candidate Registration is a one-time process that enables eligible candidates to create their account and participate in the counselling process. During registration, candidates must provide the required credentials, verify their identity, create login credentials, and submit the registration form after accepting the applicable declarations and consent.

1 New Candidate Registration

i Read the instructions, declaration, terms and conditions, Fees Payment details, Application Procedure, etc. carefully before filling the Registration form.

ii Review the list of documents required for uploading during reporting, select I Agree and click on Proceed to Application.

2 Consent Form for Counselling Purpose

i Review the Purpose of Collection for each particular and tick I read & confirm against every particular and click on Agree.

ii Click Yes on the displayed dialogue to save your consent details.

3 New Candidate Registration

i Read the instructions carefully and enter your Personal Details exactly as printed on your NEETUG 2026 Admit Card (Roll. No., Application No., Name, Mother Name, Date of Birth).

ii Enter the security pin and click on Submit.

iii Verify your personal details, Mobile Number and Email Address.

iv Choose your password as per the instructions below, enter the Security pin and click on Submit and Next.

v Click Yes on the displayed dialogue to submit your registration details.

vi Enter the OTP received on your mobile number or email, enter the Security PIN and click on Verify & Final Submit.

4 Consent Form for Counselling Purpose

i Review the Purpose of Collection for each particular and tick I read & confirm against every particular and click on Agree.

ii Click on Yes to confirm and proceed.

iii Consent is submitted successfully.

CANDIDATE HOME PAGE

1 Dashboard.

2 Header- This tab consists of the following options.

i Change Password- Using this feature, the candidate can change the password.

ii Notifications- Using this feature, the candidate can view all the important notifications and communications.

iii Last Activity Details- Using this feature, the candidate can view the last login activity details.

iv Login Trails- Using this feature, the candidate can view the login trails.

v Logout- Using this feature, the candidate can log out of the portal.

3 Candidate Details- This section allows the candidate to view their details.

4 Available Services- This section displays the available services for the candidates, listed as follows: (may vary as per the counselling process).

i View/Edit Authentication Form.

ii Application Form.

iii Qualification Details.

iv Apply for Section.

v Contact Details.

vi Upload Documents / Images.

vii Preview and Final Submit.

5 Verify Mobile No. & Email No- This section provides an option to verify the Mobile No. and Email ID.

6 Query Redressal System- Candidates can use this option to raise any allotment-related queries within the specified period between the provisional allotment and final allotment stages.

7 Contact Details- This section allows the candidate to contact the helpdesk through the available support channels.

4 FILL APPLICATION FORM

1 Click on Application Form and fill in the Personal Details, Sub-Category Details, Other Information and Bank Account Details (For Fee refund, if any).

2 Enter your Personal Details, Sub-Category Details, Other Information and Bank Account Details in the application form.

5 QUALIFICATION DETAILS

1 Click on Qualification Details and fill out the Qualification details.

2 Enter your class 12th or equivalent qualification details. Read the Institute/University Eligibility carefully and click on Save & Next.

3 Click on Yes to save the details and proceed.

6 APPLY FOR SECTION

1 Candidates must select the desired quota(s) for participation in the desired counselling process. (For more information on Quota(s), please refer to the MCC Information Bulletin on the MCC portal). Click on Save & Next to proceed.

2 Registration and Security deposit amount may vary as per selection of the Quota.

7 FILL CONTACT DETAILS

Enter your Correspondence Address and Permanent Address details. Click on Save & Next to proceed.

8 UPLOAD DOCUMNTS/IMAGED

Upload a clear PDF document of all the required documents as displayed under the Upload Documents section. Click on Preview & Upload to upload the document. All the candidates have to upload a clear PDF of a cancelled check/bank passbook/online bank statement having account details for verifying their account details.

The list of mandatory documents for different categories such as NRI candidates/OCI/ Foreign National/Indian to NRI is as follows-

A Category I: NRI Candidate/ Parents/ Brother/Sister

1 Date of Birth Certificate.

2 10th mark sheets and passing certificate.

3 12th mark sheets and passing certificates.

4 NEET-UG Score Card issued by NTA.

5 Valid Passport of the candidate.

6 NRI Certificate issued by the Competent Authority (Embassy / Indian Consulate).

7 Affidavit (Notarised) by the NRI parent stating that they will sponsor the entire course fee and living expenses of the candidate (son/daughter) during the period of study, supported by NRE Bank Account Passbook.

8 Relationship to be verified by competent revenue authority officer (Tehsildar/ Government Officer). In cases of first degree relative as per point 1 and 2 laid in the principles rules laid in Anshul Tomar vs. State of M.P W.P No. 13393 of 2007.

B Category II: Indian to NRI (Candidates who filled their category as Indian category in NEET UG form and now want to get converted to NRI category for counselling.

1 Date of Birth Certificate.

2 10th mark sheets and passing certificate.

3 12th mark sheets and passing certificates.

4 NEET- UG Score Card issued by NTA.

5 Valid Passport of the candidate.

6 Valid Passport of legal guardian.

7 NRI Certificate issued by the Competent Authority (Embassy / Indian Consulate).

8 In case of sponsorship by a legal guardian: Evidence of bona fide Guardianship stating relationship between the NRI legal guardian and the candidate. The legal guardian (sponsor) must have acted as the guardian of the candidate and must submit valid legal documentary proof establishing that he/she is the legally recognised guardian of the candidate in accordance with the provisions of the Guardian and Wards Act 1890.

9 An affidavit (notarised) by the legal guardian that he/she will sponsor the entire course fee and living expenses of the candidate during the period of study, duly supported by an NRE (Non-Resident External) Bank Account Pass Book.

C Category III: OCI CANDIDATES

1 Date of Birth Certificate.

2 10th mark sheets and passing certificate.

3 12th mark sheets and passing certificates.

4 NEET- UG Score Card issued by NTA.

5 Valid Passport of candidate.

6 Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) Card/ PIO Card.

D Category IV: FOREIGN NATIONAL

1 Date of Birth Certificate.

2 10th mark sheets and passing certificate/Equivalence Certificate for Class X from Association of Indian Universities (AIU).

3 12th mark sheets and passing certificates/ Equivalence Certificate for Class XII from Association of Indian Universities (AIU).

4 NEET- UG Score Card issued by NTA.

5 Valid Passport of the candidate.

6 Visa/ Residence Permit/ Work Permit
