New Delhi- This year, the National Eligibility and Entrance Test-Undergraduate (NEET UG) 2025 scores and merit list will also be applicable for admission to Bachelor of Dental Studies (BDS), and Bachelor of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry (BVSc and AH) courses.
This has been clarified by the National Testing Agency (NTA) through a public notice. As per the notice, the NEET UG 2025 score and merit list will also be applicable for admission to BDS and BVSc & AH courses, as followed in the past as per the rules governed by the respective regulatory bodies. However, the NEET UG 2025 score and merit list are applicable only for admission to BAMS, BUMS, BSMS, BHMS and B.Sc. Nursing courses.
This year, the NEET UG 2025 exam will most likely be held on June 15, 2025. The exam will be conducted on a single day and in a single shift in pen and paper mode. This has been recently announced through a public notice after the National Medical Commission (NMC) took a decision in this regard.
"As decided by National Medical Commission (NMC), it is informed that the NEET (UG)-2025 shall be conducted in Pen and Paper mode (OMR based) in Single day and Single Shift," NTA mentioned in the order dated 16.01.2025.
"As per Section 14 of the National Medical Commission Act, 2019, the NEET (UG) has to be conducted as a common and uniform National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test [(NEET (UG)] for admission to undergraduate medical education in all medical institutions. Similarly, as per Section 14 of the National Commission for Indian System of Medicine Act, 2020, there shall be a uniform NEET (UG) for admission to undergraduate courses in each of the disciplines i.e. BAMS, BUMS, and BSMS courses of the Indian System of Medicine in all Medical Institutions governed under this Act. NEET (UG) shall also be applicable to admission to the BHMS course under the National Commission for Homeopathy," NTA Joint Director of Exams mentioned in the notice.
Meanwhile, NTA is going to start the registration process soon and the information bulletin for the candidates who are willing to appear in NEET (UG) 2025 will also be made available on the official website of NTA in due course of time.
NEET is the only medical entrance examination in India for admission to undergraduate medical courses like MBBS and BDS.
