NEET Counselling 2026: BFUHS debars 25 candidates from Punjab state quota

The university first issued a public notice, naming 11 candidates who had applied for admission under the Punjab State Quota while also seeking State Quota seats elsewhere. A day later, BFUHS released a second notice adding 14 more candidates to the debarred list.

The action has been taken under Clause 18 of the Punjab Government notification dated July 10, 2026, which lays down the conditions for candidates seeking admission under the 85% Punjab State Quota. BFUHS said verification showed that the listed candidates had violated the provision by simultaneously applying for State Quota admission outside Punjab.

In its earlier notice, BFUHS debarred candidates who had also applied under State Quota in Chandigarh and Himachal Pradesh. The follow-up notice expanded the list further, naming candidates who had also applied in States or Union Territories.

The university has also issued a broader warning that if any candidate is found to have applied for State Quota seats in more than one State or Union Territory, apart from Punjab, their provisional allotment may be cancelled immediately.

BFUHS added that such candidates may also face other action permissible under applicable law, rules, regulations or the admission prospectus.

The university has therefore advised all NEET UG 2026 candidates seeking admission under Punjab’s 85% State Quota to carefully comply with the conditions prescribed by the Punjab Government.
