New Delhi- The National Board of Medical Examinations (NBEMS) has released the list of exam cities for the National Eligibility and Entrance Test-Postgraduate (NEET PG) exam 2024. Candidates who will appear for the NEET PG exam 2024 can check the list on the official website of NBEMS.

As per the official notice, for the NEET PG exam 2024 additional security measures are being taken by NBEMS and MoHFW (Govt. of India), therefore NEET PG will now be conducted in 185 test cities across the country.

With this, all those candidates who were issued admit cards for the NEET-PG 2024 exam will have to re-select their exam city by exercising their options of preferred exam cities during the online window open from July 19, 2024, to July 22, 2024, till 11:55 PM. The window can be accessed through the official website of NBEMS using the NEET-PG 2024 applicant login credentials.

This is because the exam cities and exam centres mentioned in the admit cards issued earlier for the NEET-PG 2024 exam which was scheduled to be held on June 23, 2024, will no longer be valid, the notice further read.

The exam city allotted to the candidates will be informed to all the concerned candidates through email on their registered email ID on 29th July 2024. The examination centre venue in the allotted exam city will also be informed through the admit card, which will be released on the NBEMS website on 8th August 2024.

As per the notice, candidates will not be able to choose the shift (morning or afternoon) in which they will be allowed to take the exam. However, the exam timings for both shifts and details about the conduct of the exam in two shifts will be notified on the official website of NBEMS in due course.

The scheme for selection and allocation of test cities shall be as under-

1 Candidate needs to provide choices for four preferred test cities where he/she wishes to appear for the examination. These test cities will be selected from the available test cities within the state of correspondence address indicated by the candidate in his/her NEET-PG 2024 application form.

2 Wherever the number of available test cities in a State/UT of correspondence address is less than four or the demand for testing seats exceeds the available capacity in the state of correspondence address, the candidate will be offered to choose from the test cities of nearby States/UTs.

3 Allocation of the test city to a candidate will be done randomly from the choices provided, and these four choices will not be considered as an order of preference of test cities.

4 It is possible that a test centre cannot be provided in any of these four preferred test cities due to reasons such as overcapacity, logistical, administrative, or security reasons. In such cases-

i The candidate will be allocated a test centre in one of the nearest available locations within the state of correspondence address or in nearby states/ UT.

ii If no test centre can be allocated within the state of the correspondence address or in a nearby state as well, the applicant shall be allocated a test centre in any part of the country based on availability.

5 Candidates who fail to provide any preferences regarding the test cities during this online window will be allocated a test centre by NBEMS anywhere in the country.

6 The allocation of the test centre is subject to availability and the decisions made by NBEMS. NBEMS reserves its right to add a new city (other than those listed above) for the conduct of the examination or to delete an offered city due to security and/or logistic reasons.

7 Candidate will not be entitled to claim any changes in the preferred test city choices given, after submitting the form. Further, the form will not be accessible to edit after being submitted once or after the expiry of the prescribed timelines of submission.
