PG medical admissions: NTRUHS allows free exit from round 1, 2 seats till tomorrow, details
Andhra Pradesh: Dr NTR University of Health Sciences (NTRUHS), Andhra Pradesh, has issued a notification permitting Free Exit for candidates admitted to PG Medical courses under the Competent Authority Quota (Non-Service) and Management Quota during Phase-I and Phase-II counselling for the academic year 2025-26.
The decision follows multiple representations from postgraduate candidates seeking to resign from their joined seats to take up admissions in Institutes of National Importance (INIs) conducted by AIIMS, New Delhi, and other state counselling processes.
FREE EXIT PROVISION
1 Candidates who joined the PG seats through State Counselling (both Competent Authority Quota and Management Quota) in Phase-1/Phase-2 can avail of the Free Exit option.
2 The resignation facility for availing this option will be available from 04:00 PM on 12 January 2026 (Monday) until 04:00 PM tomorrow, i.e., 14 January 2026 (Wednesday).
PROCEDURE FOR FREE EXIT
1 Candidates must visit their allotted college to resign from the Phase-1/Phase-2 joined seat and submit an undertaking to this effect in the format annexed to this notification.
2 College Principals are responsible for ensuring that all resignations are promptly entered into the college login system.
3 Additionally, the college Principals must freeze the data by 05:00 PM on 14 January 2026 in their logins, download and email a signed copy of the reported/not-reported and resigned candidates list along with the student undertaking.
4 College Principal shall return all the Original Certificates and the tuition fee and other fees collected to the candidates who resign from their seat.
5 Failure to complete this process will render the resignation as ‘Null & Void’.
IMPORTANT GUIDELINES FOR CANDIDATES
1 Utilise the Free Exit facility strictly within the stipulated time.
2 Once the Free Exit option is availed, the vacated seat will no longer be claimable by the candidate and will not be available for selection in Phase-III counselling.
3 Resigned candidates are eligible to participate in Phase-III Counselling as per eligibility.
4 Vacancies resulting from Free Exit will be included in the Phase-III counselling process.
RESTRICTIONS AND PENALTIES
1 No Extensions: Requests for extending the Free Exit deadline will not be entertained under any circumstances.
2 Dual Reporting Prohibited: Candidates are strictly prohibited from reporting both in the State Quota in any other State’s Counselling Allotment.
3 Any instances of dual reporting will attract severe penalties, including potential disqualification.
