TN DME releases updated list of PG medical fee structure, stipend details for 2025 NEET PG admissions

Tamil Nadu: In compliance with the directions of the Hon'ble Supreme Court and the Post Graduate Medical Education Regulations (PGMER) 2023, the Directorate of Medical Education and Research (DME), Tamil Nadu, has published the Postgraduate fee structure and stipend details for the 2025-2026 academic year.

The disclosure includes details submitted by Government Medical Colleges and Self-Financing Medical Institutions across the state.

According to the notification issued by the Tamil Nadu (TN Health) in this regard, in Special Leave Petition (Civil) No. 9298 of 2018, the Hon’ble Supreme Court has directed, “Mandate Pre-Counselling Fee Disclosure by all private / deemed universities, detailing tuition, hostel, caution deposit and miscellaneous charges”.

Meanwhile, as per the clause 5.4 of PG MER guidelines 2023, “Stipend to Post-graduate Students: The post-graduate students undergoing post-graduate Degree/Diploma/Super-speciality courses in all the institutions shall be paid a stipend at par with the stipend being paid to the postgraduate students of State Government medical institutions/Central Government medical institutions, in the State/Union Territory where the institution is located”.

Therefore, the fee details & stipend have been displayed as per the communication received from the college. The concerned institutions have been instructed to display the fee details and stipend details in their official website and strictly adhere to the norms as prescribed by NMC in disclosing fee & stipend details.
