TN Health begins Round 2 NEET counselling for MBBS, BDS admissions, check details

Tamil Nadu- The Tamil Nadu (TN Health) has begun the National Eligibility and Entrance Test-Undergraduate (NEET UG) Round 2 Counselling for the academic year 2025 for admission into the MBBS and BDS degree Courses from today.

In this regard, TN Health has released the tentative round 2 Counselling schedule for admission into the MBBS and BDS Degree Courses in Tamil Nadu Government Medical/ Dental Colleges, ESIC Medical College, K.K. Nagar, Chennai, Government & Management Quota (incl. NRI) seats in Self Financing Medical Colleges (including Christian Medical College, Vellore) & Dental Colleges, State Private Universities and Wards of IRT Candidates 2025-2026 session.

As per the schedule, the round 2 Counselling schedule for admission into the MBBS and BDS Degree Courses starts today, i.e. 16th September 2025 and will end on 30th September 2025. Below is the detailed schedule-

REGISTRATION

1 Candidates who had registered for Round-1 and did not get any seat allotted are not required to register again. Also, candidates who have been allotted but not joined in Round-1 need not register again.

2 Candidate who have joined the seats and wish to opt for upgradation need not pay the Registration fee again but they have to log in during the registration window to confirm their participation in Round 2 so as to include their seats as Virtual Vacancies. If the candidates don’t do this, they will not be eligible for upgradation.

PROCESS FOR ROUND 2

1 If opted for and upgraded in Round 2, the candidate has to relinquish the seat from Round 1 and join the Round 2 allotted seat. He/She will not have any rights over the Round-I seats.

2 Round- II choice filling will follow the registration and candidates who wish for upgradation, un-allotted candidates and not joined candidates have to fill their choices.

3 Candidates should be careful while choice filling and it is advisable to choose preferred colleges only.

4 Candidate could edit their Choice(s) but once the candidate locks their choice(s) during the online counselling, it cannot be changed later.

5 If the candidate is re-allotted in Round 2, then the MBBS & BDS seat allotted to candidates during Round 1 of Counselling will be allotted to other candidates in descending order, not in ascending order.

6 Candidates can discontinue the course before the stipulated resignation date (which will be announced later). These candidates will be eligible to attend the subsequent Rounds of online counselling for the academic year 2025-2026.

7 If the candidate has joined but discontinued the course after the stipulated date of resignation, he /she will be eligible to attend Round 3 of online counselling for the academic year 2025-2026, but they will have to forfeit the registration fee and Security Deposit paid by him/her.

8 Candidates who participated in Round-2 but were allotted the same seats will be considered as retained and have to follow the same Round-2 Rules.

9 Candidates who are freshly allotted seats in Round 2 but who don’t report or join the allotted institute can participate in further Rounds (without forfeiture)-Free Exit.

10 Candidates getting upgraded in Round 2 shall not have any claim on Round 1 seat (Even if they don’t report or join their Round-2 seats).

11 Vacancy Positions for the Course will be available on the official website. The selection committee does not take responsibility for Connectivity errors and Procedural errors.

REPORTING TO THE ALLOTTED COLLEGE

1 The Certificate Verification will be done in the selected colleges themselves.

2 The candidates should produce their original certificates in person at the time of joining their selected Colleges along with a scanned copy of their original certificates for verification.

3 If you do not report to the Head of the Institution to which you are allotted on or before the time and date specified, your selection and/or admission will be cancelled without any further notice.

4 The Candidate selected for admission should give a self-declaration form at the time of reporting to the concerned College that he/she is liable for forfeiture of selection/admission if suppression of facts, misinterpretation is found at any time during or after the admission to the course.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR DOWNLOADING ALLOTMENT ORDER

1 The freshly allotted candidate for MBBS seats in all colleges under all categories and BDS seats in Government Dental Colleges has to pay the Tuition Fee for downloading the Provisional allotment order (Except the candidates mentioned in the next clause) through online via Debit Card / Credit Card/Net Banking or RTGS.

2 The Selected candidates belonging to SC/SCA/ST/SCC who have been allotted seats in the Govt. Quota and Management Quota are exempted from paying the tuition fee for downloading the allotment order if their annual income of the Parents/ Guardian is less than 2.5 Lakhs.

3 The re-allotted candidates who have already paid the tuition fee in the Round I of online counselling have to pay the difference (if any) amount only.

4 All candidates should make sure, sufficient funds are available in their bank account with an expanded credit/transaction limit while remitting their Tuition Fee.

5 The allotted/re-allotted candidates should download their provisional allotment order and join the course in the concerned Medical College/Institution on or before the stipulated date and time as mentioned in the Provisional Allotment Order.

VIRTUAL VACANCIES

1 Any candidate who has been allotted a seat in Round 1 and has opted for upgradation by registering on the website in Round 2, that allotted seat of Round 1 will be shown as a virtual vacancy in Round 2 and all candidates can fill their choice for the said seat during the choice filling in Round 2. However, such seats will be allotted in Round 2, only if the allotted candidate of Round 1 vacates/upgrades in Round 2, then that virtual vacancy becomes a real vacancy.

2 All candidates should read the Prospectus thoroughly before starting choice filling.

3 Candidates should be careful while choice filling.

4 Candidates will have the option of choice filling for the categories for which they have applied in Round I. For example, if a candidate has applied for both the Government and management quota, he will have choices for both the Government as well as Management quota. The candidates are encouraged to analyse the choices available and fill in their choices in order of their preference.

Along with this, TN Health has also released the tentative vacancy position for the MBBS and BDS Degree course 2025-26 (92.5% reservation) and (7.5% reservation). As per the vacancies, a total of 2276 seats are vacant for a 92.5% reservation. Of these, a total of 1322 MBBS and 954 BDS seats are vacant for 92.5% reservation.

Similarly, a total of 19 BDS seats are vacant for the 7.5% reservation. Below is the detailed tentative vacancy position-
