UP DGME to end round 1 choice filling on September 5, details

Uttar Pradesh: The Directorate General of Medical Education and Training (DGME), Uttar Pradesh, has released the schedule for choice filling and admission under the first round of UP NEET UG 2026 counselling for MBBS and BDS admissions in government and private medical and dental colleges and universities across the state. Further, the UP DGME has issued a set of important instructions for candidates.

According to the notice issued by the UPDGME in this regard, the schedule has been prepared in continuation of the counselling timetable issued by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC), New Delhi.

Meanwhile, as per the revised timeline, candidates will be able to fill their choices online till 5:00 PM on September 5, 2026. The revised schedule has been released on the official website of UPDGME. Therefore, candidates are advised to check the revised schedule.

Moreover, the Round 1 seat allotment result will be declared on September 7, 2026. Candidates who are allotted seats will be able to download their allotment letters and complete the admission process from September 8 to September 14, 2026. Below is the detailed schedule-

The counselling is being conducted for admission to State Quota MBBS and BDS seats in government and private medical and dental colleges and universities in Uttar Pradesh.

Candidates participating in the first round have been advised to carefully fill their college and course preferences within the prescribed window and keep track of the allotment result on the official counselling portal.

Through another notification, UPDGME detailed the rules for online choice filling, choice locking, seat allotment and admission to government and private medical and dental colleges. Below are the detailed instructions-

IMPORTANT INFORMATION/INSTRUCTIONS FOR CHOICE FILLING AND ADMISSION PROCESS OF FIRST ROUND UNDER UP NEET UG-2026.

1 Only those candidates who have been declared successful in the NEET UG-2026 entrance examination are eligible to participate in the counselling of UP NEET UG-2026.

2 Only those candidates whose security amount is deposited and whose records are verified will be eligible for choice filling.

3 Candidates should fill their choices for admission to government/private medical/dental colleges based on their preferences. Candidates should only fill their choices for colleges they are interested in.

4 After filling your choices online, it is mandatory to lock your choices. Failure to do so will automatically disqualify the candidate from the allocation process.

5 After choice filling and locking the choice, under no circumstances will any modification/change in the locked choices be permitted, nor will the Directorate General consider any application received in this regard.

6 The admission process of candidates allotted to Government Medical/Dental Colleges will be completed in the allotted college.

7 The admission process for candidates allocated to private medical/dental colleges will be conducted at the nodal centres designated by the government.

8 Please personally review the letter/government order regarding the prescribed tuition fee of private minority/non-minority medical/dental colleges available on the departmental official website.

9 Candidates allotted in private medical/dental colleges will be required to deposit the tuition fee fixed by the Government/minority institution in the form of CTS Bank Draft drawn in favour of "Director General, Medical Education & Training, U.P. Payable at Lucknow" at the designated nodal centre at the time of admission; otherwise, the admission will be automatically cancelled.
