WB NEET PG Round 3 Counselling Registration Postponed, details
West Bengal- The West Bengal Medical Counselling Committee (WBMCC) has postponed the WB National Eligibility and Entrance Test-Postgraduate (NEET PG) Round 3 counselling registration due to the recent reduction of the cut-off percentile by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC). The WBMCC is expected to announce the revised schedule on the official website soon.
This has been updated on the WBMCC official website which states that “The Registration Process for Round 3 is temporarily postponed in pursuance to the cut-off percentile reduction notice published by MCC, New Delhi. For further information, please check the counselling website frequently."
Recently, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) has revised the NEET PG 2024 cutoff in consultation with the National Medical Commission (NMC). In which, the cutoff percentile for the General/EWS category has been reduced to the 15th percentile and the cutoff percentile for the SC/ST/OBC/PwD category has been reduced to the 10th percentile. This step has been taken to ensure that the remaining PG medical seats under the All India Quota (AIQ) and State Quota are filled efficiently.
Along with West Bengal, other states are soon going to reopen the counselling registration process to allow more candidates to participate after meeting the revised cutoff criteria. However, some states have already started the NEET PG counselling 2024 registration process.
Initially, WB NEET PG Round 3 counselling registration was scheduled to begin on January 7, 2025, with the verified candidate list scheduled to be released on January 10 and seat allotment scheduled on January 15, 2025.
West Bengal Medical Counselling Committee (WBMCC) conducts online counselling and admission to various postgraduate (PG) and undergraduate (UG) courses in medical, dental and AYUSH at the state level. The committee was constituted by the Health and Family Welfare Department of the Government of West Bengal under the chairmanship of the Director of Medical Education.
