Raichur: In a shocking incident, a postgraduate medical student who had just started her studies at the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) in Raichur reportedly went missing on Sunday, February 9. The medico's family has lodged a police complaint in this regard and an investigation is currently ongoing.
According to a recent report by EdexLive, The student has been identified as Dr Bhagyalakshmi from Kalaburagi. She had joined the medical college just about 15 days before her reported disappearance. According to sources, she had informed others that she was visiting a friend's house before she went missing.

Her parents, worried when they were unable to reach her as her phone was switched off, promptly filed a missing person complaint with the Market Yard Police Station in Raichur, reports Edexlive.
Acting on the complaint, police have registered a case and launched an investigation into the case, and efforts are underway to trace her whereabouts. Further details are awaited.
Medical Dialogues had previously reported a similar incident where an MBBS student suddenly went missing from the hostel of Christian Medical College and Hospital (CMCH), Tamil Nadu. Based on the complaint of the hostel warden, a case has been registered against an unknown person on the charge of secret confinement.
The student named Emmanuel suddenly left his hostel on January 26 and did not return. When it was found that he was missing from the hostel, the warden tried to contact him, but his mobile was switched off. Ishan, a resident of Hyderabad, has been a student of CMCH for the last three years.
