Care Companion Program inaugurated in Hamirpur Medical College
Hamirpur: The Care Companion Programme (CCP), being run by the state government with the objective of reducing the mortality rate of mother and child, started at the local Government Medical College on Friday.
The programme, launched with the courtesy of Mamta Health Institute and Noora Health, was inaugurated by Principal in-charge Dr. Ramswaroop Sharma and Additional Director Sukhdev Rana. Under this programme, staff nurses and attendants posted in various hospitals of Himachal Pradesh will be trained to take better care of babies after delivery in hospitals and homes.
A spokesperson of the health department said that the sole aim of the department is to improve health facilities in urban and rural areas across the state. He informed that various national health programs are being implemented under the National Health Mission (NHM).
To improve the health of the people by increasing the efficiency of health workers, the Government of Himachal Pradesh has implemented the Care Companion Program through NHM.
It will be operated by Noora Health and Mamta Health Institute. On the inauguration of this program at Medical College Hamirpur, Dr. Mohan Thakur, Dr. Monica Sharma, Dr. Raveena, Dr. Abhishek Guleria, other doctors, facilitator Manisha Thakur and other officers were also present.
