JSS Medical College 208 MBBS Graduates receive degrees

Mysuru- JSS Medical College, Mysuru, a constituent of the JSS Academy of Higher Education and Research (JSS AHER), recently organised a graduates’ reception for its MBBS students. In the event, a number of students and teachers were rewarded for their excellent performance.
Achal Gulati, President and Vice-Chancellor of Mahatma Gandhi University of Medical Science and Technology, Jaipur, attended the program as the chief guest. He gave away medals and prizes to the winners. Shivaratri Deshikendra Swami of Suttur Math was also present with him in this program.
In addition, the program was presided over by JSS Mahavidyalaya Executive Secretary C G Betsurmath and was attended by other dignitaries, including JSS AHER Pro Vice-Chancellor B Suresh, JSS AHER Vice-Chancellor H Basavanagoudappa and JSS Medical College Principal Narayanappa.
According to a The Hindu news report, a total of 208 MBBS graduates received their certificates during the ceremony, while six meritorious students were awarded 12 gold medals and 11 cash prizes for their academic excellence. Moreover, the Best Teacher Award was also given to faculty members for their dedication to teaching, while the Research Excellence Award was presented to the faculty with the highest number of publications and citations. Meanwhile, graduates took the Hippocratic Oath as part of the program and also reaffirmed their commitment to ethical medical practice.
JSS Medical College was established in 1984. The college is known for its academic excellence. JSS AHER is accredited with an A++ grade by NAAC and is ranked 24th in the NIRF Ranking 2024. Over the years, the college has produced 5,604 MBBS graduates and 2,490 postgraduate students who are contributing to healthcare in both India and abroad. In recognition of its continued excellence, the college has also received a Platinum Plus rating from the QS-I Gauge Subject Ranking for 2024.
