PGIMER to Hold its 37th Convocation on August 10, know All Details Here
Chandigarh- On August 10, 2024, the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER) is going to hold its 37th Convocation.
As per the notice in this regard, the 37th convocation will be held for PhD, DM, MCh, MD, MS, MDS, and MPH students courses whose terms have been completed in June 2023, and December 2023. The convocation will be presided over by Justice Dr. D.Y. Chandrachud, Hon’ble Chief Justice of India.
Meanwhile, a full dress rehearsal for the convocation will be held on August 9, 2024, from 9 am onwards at Bhargava Auditorium. The attendance at the rehearsals is compulsory, however, those who do not attend rehearsals will not be admitted to the Convocation.
Further, the candidates wishing to attend the convocation are directed to confirm their participation through e-mail by July 31, 2024, so that necessary arrangements can be made accordingly. While confirming their participation in the Convocation, candidates are required to mandatorily provide their latest e-mail address/telephone number/mobile phone number.
Also, it must be noted that only one guest is allowed to accompany each candidate. Due to space constraints, guests will be allowed separate entry to the area where the convocation proceedings will be telecast. Therefore, while confirming the participation in the Convocation, the participants will also have to provide the details of the person accompanying them.
FOR CANDIDATES ATTENDING THE CONVOCATION
1 Be punctual for rehearsal as well as for convocation.
2 Enter the Auditorium on Convocation Day with your Gown and Hood from Gate No-1 Occupy your seat 60 minutes before the arrival of the Chief Guest.
3 Do not leave your seat during rehearsal and Convocation proceedings.
4 Occupy your correct seat. Note the row number and seat number allotted to you on rehearsal day and remember your neighbours on the left and right.
5 Please ensure that you have signed the Roll Call sheet on the rehearsal day otherwise your name will not be included amongst the candidates receiving the degrees at the Convocation.
6 Please do not bring a personal Camera/mobile/handbag etc. in the auditorium.
7 After you have received the degree, you will kindly bow to the Chief Guest and Directo before returning to your seat.
8 In case there is any discrepancy in the degree awarded to you, please see the undersigned immediately after the convocation is over. No objection shall be entertained later_
9 All the guests as well as candidates for the award of degree and medals will please stand in decorum-
i when the National Song or National Anthem is being sung/played.
ii when the academic procession enters or leaves the Convocation Hall.
10 All to stand up when the academic procession enters the Auditorium and remain standing till the persons forming the procession take their seats. The same procedure will be followed when the procession leaves the Auditorium.
11 Only one Guest per recipient of degree is allowed. The guest will be allowed to watch the convocation through the televised screen in a separate hall/lecture theatre. While confirming your participation, also let us know the details of your accompanying person.
In addition, students receiving degrees will attend the ceremony wearing academic gowns. Gowns will be available at the counter in Zakir Hall from 9:00 am on August 9, 2024. The academic gowns are specified below
