Although the student died on Saturday, his parents received information on Sunday that he had died.
However, there are different arguments regarding this. On the one hand, it has been said that the student died after falling down the stairs of the hostel building due to the heavy rain on Saturday night and fell into the open drainage canal. On the other hand, it has been said that he met with an accident when he was traveling on a motorcycle and fell in the drainage canal. But the reasons for his death are yet to be clarified.
The Philippines police are investigating the incident.
Hearing the news of their son's death, the parents were shocked. They were heartbroken as they could not believe that their son was going to die. The parents have urged the state government for help to bring his body back to his hometown for the ritual, TH reports.
