MUHS invites applications for Opening New Institutes, Starting New Courses, Increase Intake Of UG, PG Courses 2024-25
Maharashtra: Maharashtra University of Health Sciences (MUHS) has asked the colleges to submit online & offline applications for the opening of new colleges/starting of new postgraduate courses/increase in intake capacity in health sciences for undergraduate and postgraduate courses from the academic year 2024-25.
The colleges will have to apply online as well as offline to the University. For online submission of the proposal, the link “My Application” is provided on the MUHS website with requisite fees. The fees should be paid as NEFT / RTGS / University E-payment Gateway before the last day of October 2023. The link for submitting an online application will be inoperative automatically after 23:59 hrs on the last day of October.
For convenience, a demo of “how to apply online” is given on the MUHS website. Institutions are requested to submit applications in both ways, i.e., online and offline. The institutes need to use the link https://automation.muhs.ac.in for online application.
For offline submission of proposals, applications available on the website are to be filled in duplicate and submitted in separate two-box file in the inward department of the University headquarter. The proposal should be submitted complete in all respect, along with the documents of land, hospital registration documents and college building, infrastructure facilities, list of teaching and non-teaching staff etc., in separate two-box files with flagging as mentioned in the checklist. Incomplete applications will be summarily rejected, and the Proposals received after 31st October 2023 will not be accepted.
Institutions that are applying for opening of new colleges/ starting of new postgraduate courses/ increase in intake capacity but could not obtain an essentiality certificate / any objection certificate/government resolution (as applicable) from the Maharashtra Government for the academic year 2024-25 should apply every year for revalidation of the proposal by paying revalidation fees as prescribed in affiliation fees notification. Such proposals can be revalidated for up to 5 Years only (i.e., 6 years from the date of recommendation of the proposal to the State Government.) After 6 years, such proposals will be treated as closed, and such institutes will have to apply for a fresh one along with prescribed fees (as per revised fees notified from time to time, if desired).
Those institutions who have received the consent of affiliation of the University for the opening of new colleges/ starting of new PG courses / Increase in intake capacity (UG & PG). However, suppose they cannot obtain a Letter of Permission (LOP) from Central Government / Central Council / Commission within 1 year from the date of its issuance. In that case, they should require to apply for an extension of the consent of affiliation by paying fees as prescribed in fee notification from time to time within five years. Those institutions that could not receive permission from the Central Government / Central Council / Commission within 6 years from the date of recommendation by the University to the State Government, then the proposal will be treated as closed, and the institute shall have to apply a fresh one along with prescribed fees. (as per revised fees notification as prescribed from time to time).
The colleges will have to strictly observe the vacancy position of the concerned district/corporation as per the provision in the university perspective plan 2022-27 & accordingly submit the proposal to the University to avoid non-recommendation of the proposal.
For submitting the proposal for the academic year 2024-25, the information booklet, the prospective plan for 2022-2027, the affiliation fee notification no 42/2017 (revised), the proposal form, and the district municipal corporation-wise and pathy-wise vacancy position chart. All these are enclosed in the notices below.
It is mandatory to submit the supportive documents along with the application duly signed by the Chairman / Secretary of the Institute. Other than online and offline applications received in the stipulated time. The proposals received by post /courier /email will not be accepted. Suppose the University does not recommend the proposal to the State Govt. In that case, the fees will be refunded as per the provision mentioned under Fees Notification No. 42 / 2017 (revised) after receipt of the request from institutes.
MUHS has further directed that the proposal for opening new colleges should be per the existing Perspective Plan 2022-27 of MUHS; otherwise, it will not be recommended to the Govt.
