West Bengal: The West Bengal University of Health Sciences (WBUHS) has issued a notification asking Foreign Medical graduates to apply for internship as per the NMC guidelines for compulsory rotating internship training for MBBS students.
The National Medical Commission (NMC) issued a circular on 4th March 2022 regarding the guideline for the registration of foreign medical graduates for their internship (externship) in different medical colleges in the country.
Considering the guideline issued by NMC, candidates who are applying for NOC before WBUHS for their compulsory rotational internship (externship) will have to deposit the following documents along with their application –

2. NOC from the Principal/ Dean of the college in which the candidate wants to do their internship (externship).
3. A letter from the Dean/Principal indicating the name of the candidate along with certifying that the total intake of externs is not more than 7.5% of the total permitted seats in the college.
4. Principal/Dean shall also ensure that no fees are charged by the medical college from the FMGs for permitting them to do their internship.
5. The stipend and other facilities to FMGs should be extended equivalent to Indian Medical Graduates being trained at Government Medical Colleges as fixed by the appropriate authority applicable to the Institute/ University or State.
6. NOC from West Bengal Medical Council.
7. All relevant documents, i.e., MBBS passed certificate, passport, visa, ID proof. etc.
Indian medical graduates will have to complete their entire period of compulsory rotating internship training (CRMI) in the institution where they have pursued and completed their Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS). This rule is according to the circular issued by NMC on 18th November 2021.
Further, WBUHS has announced that the students of the non-regulatory courses will also have to undergo their internship in their own colleges where they have completed the study. If any college does not have the infrastructure of the internship program, the students can complete their internship at those hospitals attached to their college.
