New GMC Rajamahendravaram to start MBBS admissions from next academic year
Kakinada: Bringing good news to the medical aspirants in Andhra Pradesh, the new medical college at Rajamahendravaram is going to commence admission for the MBBS course from the next academic year.
This new medical colleges at Rajamahendravaram in East Godavari district of the State is coming up at a cost of Rs 470 crore. Recently, the BC Welfare minister SV Krishna confirmed that there shall be a total number of 150 medical seats in the new Government Medical College at Rajamahendravaram.
GMC Rajamahendravaram is one of the five medical colleges which are set to commence MBBS admission from the next academic year. Medical Dialogues had earlier reported that the Andhra Pradesh Government had been working to ensure that these new medical colleges become operational from 2023-2024.
In this regard, the State had issued a Government Order and had notified about the creation of 3,530 posts for five new medical colleges and teaching hospitals across Andhra Pradesh.
Consequently, last month, Dr. NTR University of Health Sciences gave its nod for commencing academic activities in five new medical colleges of the State from the next academic year 2023-24.
All of these five medical colleges at Eluru, Vizianagaram, Rajamahendravaram, Nandyal and Machilipatnam districts of the State are set to commence the MBBS admission process in 150 MBBS seats each.
Meanwhile, the recently issued Government Order confirmed that each of the five medical colleges were given 222 posts and each affiliated teaching hospitals got 484 posts in compliance with the National Medical Commission (NMC) norms.
As per the latest media report by Deccan Chronicle, now the BC Welfare minister SV Krishna has confirmed that 150 medical seats would come up in the new Government Medical College at Rajamahendravaram in East Godavari district.
The admission in these medical seats is set to begin from the next academic year i.e. 2023-2024.
